WELCOMES YOU

Good afternoon and a warm welcome to the July Course for the return of Ladies Day and the opening day of the 2022 Moët & Chandon July Festival.

The next three days will see record prize money of £2.19 million and combine the very best Flat racing and summer entertainment in the uniquely British surrounds of The July Course, and we are thrilled to welcome racegoers back in full for the first time since 2019.

We have seven Flat races of the highest quality to savour on the track and I would like to thank bet365 for their support across all three days of the meeting and today’s sponsors The Rashid Equestrian and Horseracing Club, Close Brothers, The European Breeders’ Fund, Edmondson Hall Solicitors and Weatherbys Hamilton. Today’s feature races The Princess Of Wales’s Close Brothers Stakes, The Bahrain Trophy and The Close Brothers July Stakes have a rich history of producing some stars of the future with the likes of Persian Punch, Big Orange and Advertise all victorious on this day in years gone by, and we look in store for three superb renewals this afternoon.

Away from the racing our Style Awards are back, open to all and this year are focusing on sustainable fashion, with some great prizes from the likes of The Devout and House of Cavani up for grabs. You can enter until 3pm near to the Grandstand and Paddock Entrance and our judging panel will have a keen eye on racegoers who are taking a more sustainable approach to raceday style. After racing Radio 1’s Adele Roberts will be providing our “Aprés Racing” party and if you want to extend your time with us we still have two fantastic days of racing to come with Festival Friday and Darley July Cup Day on Saturday. Thank you for choosing to spend your day with us. On behalf of the Newmarket Racecourses team I hope you have an enjoyable experience and if you have a runner I wish you the very best of luck. Best wishes,

SOPHIE ABLE
