THURSDAY 24TH JULY 2025

THURSDAY 24TH JULY 2025
How
Newbury Racecourse is delighted to offer all racegoers free use of our Wi-Fi service.
Good evening and a very warm welcome to the finale of the Summer Evening Series - The Ibiza Beach Club - brought to you by Hits Radio.
To begin, I’d like to extend our heartfelt thanks to tonight’s valued sponsors: our multi-raceday partner BetVictor, HEROS Charity, BetGoodwin, Hunscote Stud, European Breeders Fund, Pump Technology, Country and Townhouse, Rayner Bosch Car Service, and our Summer Evening Series title partner, Hits Radio.
We start the evening with a charity race in aid of HEROS, a charity that specialises in the retraining and rehoming of racehorses, along with running educational programmes based in Wantage, Oxfordshire. At 5:10, six riders will line up at the 1 mile 2 furlong start to experience the thrill of racing at Newbury. These riders have raised a tremendous amount of funds for HEROS We wish all connections the best of luck in the race and extend our thanks to the trainers and owners who have also helped make this event possible.
We’re delighted to conclude our popular Summer Evening Series this evening with The Ibiza Beach Club. Racegoers can enjoy a vibrant selection of cocktails, live music from our talented saxophonist, and - after the final race - the ultimate closing party with our resident DJ Moonraker Expect pure Ibiza vibes to round off the night in style.
We’re also thrilled to welcome you to Filly’s, our brand-new sparkling wine bar in partnership with Chapel Down. Located next to the Hampshire Stand, Filly’s has already become a favourite among racegoers. Be sure to stop by and enjoy a glass of something special.
This evening follows an unforgettable weekend, when more than 15,500 racing and music fans joined us for Weatherbys Super Sprint Day. The day saw live performances from Ella Henderson and Sophie Ellis-Bextor and marked our biggest crowd since July 2023. The racing highlight came in the Weatherbys Super Sprint Stakes, where Anthelia, expertly ridden by Lewis Edmunds, surged to victory in a dramatic photo finish that had the crowd on its feet
2025 marks our biggest year of music yet, with four spectacular music racedays across July, August, and September Following last Saturday’s success, we’re excited to welcome Bjorn Again on Friday 15th August, Clean Bandit on Saturday 16th August for Visit Malta Hungerford Day, and James Bay on Saturday 20th September as part of the Dubai Duty Free International Weekend. Discounted tickets and hospitality packages are available for a limited time. Don’t miss out – 11:59pm tomorrow (Friday 25th July) - is your final chance to save on tickets for Bjorn Again and Clean Bandit
Finally, thank you to all our racegoers for joining us today. We hope you have a thoroughly enjoyable evening and look forward to welcoming you back on Tuesday 5th August for the BetVictor Evening Raceday.

Betting
There are plenty of ways to bet at Newbury – you can either bet with the bookmakers in the ‘ring’ in front of the Grandstand and the Crafty Filly, at one of the many Totepool kiosks or in one of our Betting Shops, located on the ground floor of the Dubai Duty Free Grandstand and the Berkshire Stand. Here’s a step-by-step guide of what to do:
1. Select your horse and note its name and racecard number.
2. Choose your bet –‘To win’ or ‘each-way’ are the two most common types:
• ‘To win’ is for your horse to come first.
• ‘Each-way’ is when you place two bets in one: one for your horse to come first, the other for it to be placed. Therefore £2 each-way = £4 total bet.
• What qualifies as a ‘place’ depends on the number of runners: between two and four runners - first place only; between five and seven runners - first and second place; eight runners and over - first three places; 16 runners and over (handicaps only) - first four places.
• The place part of the bet will be paid out at a fraction of the odds, usually a quarter or a fifth - this varies depending on the bookmaker, so check if you are unsure!
3. Decide the amount, also known as the stake that you are comfortable to bet.
4. Choose your outlet and place your bet e.g. “£2 win on number three” or “£2 each-way on number six”.
5. If your horse has won, wait to hear “weighed in” over the public address system and then go and collect any winnings!
6. Got so swept up you forgot to collect your cash? There are details of how to collect winning slips after the raceday on our terms and conditions page near the back of the racecard.
