The first race of the afternoon is the Watch Weekend Winners Powered By BetVictor ‘Hands and Heels’ Apprentice Handicap Stakes which sees 12 runners declared for the two-mile trip with Toby Moore, son of Ryan Moore, hoping to ride his first winner at Newbury. The round mile course will be used for today’s sixth race The Join Hot To Trot Racing 2026 EBF Novice Stakes – the first time it’s been in use since April - with 12 two-year-olds set to compete, including Electrical, a former Newbury winner. Trained by Brian Toomey and owned by Jeff Smith, Electrical aims to return to winning form following his run in the Group 2 Flying Scotsman Stakes at Doncaster.

Hot To Trot Racing, one of today’s sponsors, celebrated a remarkable milestone earlier this season, with their 100th winner achieved right here on Saturday 19th July courtesy of the outstanding ﬁlly Rage of Bamby - congratulations to the whole team!

The bumper two-day meeting features a host of exhilarating racing - including the prestigious £250,000 Coral Gold Cup – as well as live music, free to use outdoor attractions, two big after parties and much more. If you’re planning to join us for the historic weekend, make sure you secure your tickets before the Early Bird deadline on Friday 31st October.

With the curtain coming down on the Flat season it’s also nearly time for tickets to 2026’s racing action to go on sale. 2026 tickets will be released for general sale on Thursday 13th November, but you can get early access by registering for priority – simply scan the QR code on the back cover to jump the queue. As always, Newbury Members get ﬁrst access to tickets with Members able to secure the 2026 tickets they’d like for friends and family from Tuesday 28th October

How To Bet

There are plenty of ways to bet at Newbury – you can either bet with the bookmakers in the ‘ring’ in front of the Grandstand and the Crafty Filly, at one of the many Totepool kiosks or in one of our Betting Shops, located on the ground ﬂoor of the Dubai Duty Free Grandstand and the Berkshire Stand. Here’s a step-by-step guide of what to do:

1. Select your horse and note its name and racecard number.

2. Choose your bet –‘To win’ or ‘each-way’ are the two most common types:

• ‘To win’ is for your horse to come ﬁrst.

• ‘Each-way’ is when you place two bets in one: one for your horse to come ﬁrst, the other for it to be placed. Therefore £2 each-way = £4 total bet.

• What qualifies as a ‘place’ depends on the number of runners: between two and four runners - first place only; between five and seven runners - first and second place; eight runners and over - first three places; 16 runners and over (handicaps only) - first four places.

• The place part of the bet will be paid out at a fraction of the odds, usually a quarter or a ﬁfth - this varies depending on the bookmaker, so check if you are unsure!

3. Decide the amount, also known as the stake that you are comfortable to bet.

4. Choose your outlet and place your bet e.g. “£2 win on number three” or “£2 each-way on number six”.

5. If your horse has won, wait to hear “weighed in” over the public address system and then go and collect any winnings!

Abandonment Policy Tickets

In the event of racing being abandoned refunds on the face value of general admission tickets purchased will be available as follows:

a) abandonment before completion of the ﬁrst race – full refund

b)abandonmentbeforecompletionof the third race – 50% refund

c) abandonment thereafter – no refund

Newbury Racecourse will not refund the cost of racecard purchased on the day of racing in the event of abandonment

In the instance of an abandonment Newbury Racecourse will contact the lead booker to arrange a refund or ticket exchange.

Depending on the volume of refund requests received, payments will aim to be processed within 28 days of abandonment, although that cannot be guaranteed.

Hospitality Boxes, Hennessy & Racegoers Restaurant

In the event of racing being abandoned refunds on Hospitality, Hennessy and Racegoers’ Restaurant packages will be available as follows:

a) Abandoned before gates open – full refund

b) Abandoned before completion of the third race – 50% refund

c) Abandoned thereafter – no refund

Betting

LayingofbetsissubjecttoRacecourse terms and conditions. The Betting Ring Manager is located in the Grandstand ground ﬂoor Customers of the boards and rails bookmakers should check their itemised tickets immediately on receipt, as mistakes cannot be rectiﬁed after the ‘off’.

Collecting your winnings: If your selection wins (or, in the case of a place bet, is placed), hand the ticket back to the bookmaker forsettlement NEVER destroy your ticket until after

the ‘Weighed in’ announcement has been made. There may still be a Steward’s Enquiry and the ﬁrst past the post, or placed horses may be disqualiﬁed.

With Bookmakers: A late pay service is available in case a bookmaker leaves the course before you have collected your winnings. Late pay claims should be sent to 3A Kings Hall, Parsons Green, St Ives, Cambridgeshire, PE27 4WY.
