Good afternoon and welcome to the final day of our 2022 flat season, the Virgin Bet Flat Finale.

To start, I would like to take this opportunity to thank our sponsors for their generous support of today’s card: Virgin Bet, Renegade Brewery, Conundrum Consulting, Galloping to Give and Horris Hill School.

For a second year running we are delighted to bring you top quality racing as well as Oktoberfest. Included in both Premier and Grandstand tickets, head to the Dubai Duty Free Grandstand which has been transformed into a Bavarian themed Oktoberfest experience, complete with the traditional Steins, Bratwurst, Pretzels and live Oompah music between the racing.

Additionally, make sure you head over to the Renegade Brewery Games area for some traditional Bavarian fun. Beer, racing and merriment has played an integral part of Oktoberfest since its conception back in the early 19th century, so we are delighted the local Renegade Brewery team are official partners across this weekend.

As our final day of the 2022 flat season, we will also be presenting our own end of season awards, with the return of The Newburys, in association with Conundrum Consulting. Our leading Trainer, Owner, Jockey and Apprentice will be honoured throughout the afternoon of racing, along with a special prize to the yard which has won the Best Turned-Out awards over the last seven months of the flat season as well as Moment of the Season as voted for by you.

Looking ahead, hopefully many of you will be aware of the recent launch of the Great Christmas Carnival which will be arriving at Newbury Racecourse on 27 November and run until 2 January. This large-scale winter extravaganza will take place in the centre of the racecourse and will feature a wide-range of family festive entertainment, including rides, rollercoasters, an ice-rink, circus shows and of course Father Christmas.

A range of tickets and packages are available to purchase by visiting greatchristmascarnivalnewbury.com and if you are planning on joining us for the Coral Gold Cup Meeting on 25/26 November, your racing ticket will also grant you exclusive entry to the Carnival site after the racing.

I would finally like to take this opportunity to thank all our racegoers for joining us over the summer. We are extremely grateful for all the support you provide us with, and we look forward to welcoming many of you back here again for the start of a new Jumps season on Thursday 3 November. Wishing you an enjoyable and profitable afternoon.

Race Summary: DUAL IDENTITY, Caradoc and Mujtaba renew rivalry having finished third, fourth and eighth respectively in the Cambridgeshire last month. It wouldn’t be the greatest of surprises were Caradoc or Mujtaba to turn the tables on Dual Identity here but, that said, William Knight’s charge was arguably unlucky not to prevail in that valuable handicap and he is the most likely winner. Aerion Power and Magisterial are others to consider
