PLAY SMARTER

Dual-bumper winner SUPER SIX got back on track despite making a couple of mistakes when runner-up on his handicap debut at Taunton 16 days ago, and a reproduction of that form may be good enough to see him resume winning ways. Invictus Smart is an interesting contender having changed hands for big money after winning his sole outing in France, while Doctor Ken is also respected returning to less testing ground following a breathing operation.

PLAY SMARTER

THE VOLLAN has dropped back to a good mark so it’s worth chancing that he can build on a better run here last time. Thirtyfourstitches has had an excellent season and will be a danger if he hasn’t suffered any ill effects from a recent fall at Fakenham. Made For You may prove best of the rest.

A DISTANT PLACE is amongst the least exposed in this field and remains with the potential to improve beyond his current mark, so is the marginal pick in a race with several conceivable winners. Guernesey has been a model of consistency this season and should go well again, whilst The Street is another with room to progress further.
