Welcome to Ludlow Races last day of this season, Ladies Day with numerous shopping stalls, food outlets and live music at the end of racing in the Fariway Green area.
The shopping stalls are located in the Windsor Marquee, so please do go and browse them The selfie point is outside of the Windsor Marquee, so grab the opportunity to take a photo there.
A big welcome to the Sinclair Group who are our main sponsors for Ladies Day. This is their first visit to Ludlow Racecourse and hopefully we will see them on an annual Ladies Raceday. The Sinclair Group have recently moved into Ludlow and today will be showing some of their amazing vehicles.
Welcome also to the Welsh Guards who visit us annually at this meeting and to Mortimer Vets.
I hope you have enjoyed the racing at Ludlow this season with some quality fields and competitive races. It was good to see Willie Mullins ’Ludlow Winner “Daddy Long Legs” bolt up next time at the Punchestown festival and Stuart Edmond’s winner at Ludlow “Arizona Cardinal” go on to win the Topham at Aintree.
One of the highlights for the racecourse was to be awarded as “The most improved raceday experience track” in the UK Many thanks to all raceday staff, office staff, groundstaff who enabled us to receive this award.
From the Chairman, Directors, Office Staff, and groundstaff we wish you a great summer and look forward to seeing you back at Ludlow in the Autumn

A few of these arrive with a question mark against them but TRAPISTA is a notable exception and looks the way to go in her hat-trick attempt. Chasing-debutante Regal Renaissance could emerge as the main danger given she arrives in good form over hurdles, with Moviddy and Great Snow also worthy of consideration.

Race Summary:
PLAY SMARTER
A few with chances but SAINT BIBIANA should prove suited by this step up in trip so looks the way to go off a lenient mark in her bid for a breakthrough hurdling victory Call Me Arthur is feared most on the back of his good Ffos Las second, although a solid case can also be made for the likes of I Look How I Look, Lion’s Vigil and Fantomas.

“Racing’s top priority is the safety and welfare of horse and rider” At Ludlow Racecourse we are committed to minimising risks as far as possible. We aim to deal quickly and humanely with injured horses and to maintain the highest quality of veterinary care We have three Equine Veterinary Surgeons in attendance at all meetings who are responsible for the welfare of all horses in action One Veterinary Surgeon follows the race in the centre of the course and can attend a horse with the same response time as the Paramedic teams responsible for the jockeys. It is our policy to erect screens around any injured horse requiring Veterinary attention on the racecourse. This is designed to provide privacy for the Veterinary Surgeons, the patient and connections Please do not assume the worst.
The Ludlow Club Room on the ground floor of the Plymouth Stand is for the Exclusive use of the holders of Ludlow Annual Members Metal Badges and Ludlow Annual Members Guest Badges only.
In the interests of Safety would members of the public please note that when the order “Jockey Mount” is given they must clear the course ready for the horses leaving the paddock and going to the start.

The BHA Handicappers allot ratings to horses once they have taken part in a sufficient number of races to enable the Handicappers to make a numerical assessment of each horse’s ability.
The principal purpose of the ratings is to determine the weight to be carried by each runner in handicap races, with the Handicappers aiming to provide each participant with an equal chance based on its best recent form under its optimum conditions. A horse rated 100, for example, would be set to carry 1lb more than a horse rated 99 (ignoring any penalties or allowances).
The ratings published in the racecard for handicap races are the ratings that were used to calculate the weight to be carried by each horse, whilst in non-handicap races the rating shown is that of each runner at the time that the entries for the race were confirmed. Any subsequently published change to a rating, either up or down, is shown in brackets following the rating.
For novice steeple chasers, the latest hurdle race rating may be shown until such time as the Handicappers allot a separate steeple chase rating. Such ratings are prefixed by the letter h.
