Proudly supporting LOROS as our charity of the year

Welcome to our 30 July RACEDAY 2025.

We have 6 races this evening commencing at 5.55pm and we would like to thank our sponsors today who are: The Irish EBF, Unique Windows and Walker and Son 1255.

Important points to note today are:

For our Owners, Trainers, we have provided the Club Room for dining plus the first floor Executive Room and boxes for viewing today where you will find large televisions, a bar, complimentary tea and coffee and a twocourse meal plus betting facilities. You may also use the Club Terrace area and the new ground floor PREMIER ROOM 2. For our Annual badge holders you have the Paddock Pavilion and The Club Terrace.

Please be aware that we no longer accept cash at all bar and food outlets only debit or credit cards. Please be assured that turnstiles and betting facilities will continue to accept cash. For those customers who either forget their cards or do not possess a debit card or credit card, we have opened “voucher outlets” where you will be able to exchange your cash for vouchers and should you not spend your vouchers on the day you will be able to exchange them back for cash from the main office before you leave (up to 30 minutes after the last race), or use them on a future meeting. Today these outlets are situated at the Main Office and the Main Tote building. We are pleased to say that this change has sped up service and improved security.

Public bars and food stands will close today immediately following the final race and the racecourse will close shortly after Please take a look at the racecourse map within your racecard to familiarise yourself with our facilities and in particular the location of our first aid unit where we have 2 qualified staff to look after any slip, trips or bumps you may have and hopefully nothing more serious.

HAVE A GREAT EVENING THANK YOU FOR SUPPORTING US AND WE HOPE TO SEE YOU AGAIN FOR OUR NEXT MEETING WHICH IS OUR FAMILY FUNDAY ON SUNDAY 10 AUGUST.

Official BHA Rating

Each horse has been given a star rating, these are defined below:

★★★★★ Selected to win the race.

★★★★✩ Good chance of being placed.

★★★✩✩ By no means out of the reckoning but at least one or two hold stronger claims

★★✩✩✩ Unlikely to win but not totally without hope

★✩✩✩✩ Can be given little or no chance

Official BHA Ratings

The BHA Handicappers allot ratings to horses once they have taken part in a sufficient number of races to enable the Handicappers to make a numerical assessment of each horse’s ability. The principal purpose of the ratings is to determine the weight to be carried by each runner in handicap races, with the Handicappers aiming to provide each participant with an equal chance based on its best recent form under its optimum conditions A horse rated 100, for example, would be set to carry 1lb more than a horse rated 99 (ignoring any penalties or allowances). The ratings published in the racecard for handicap races are the ratings that were used to calculate the weight to be carried by each horse, whilst in non-handicaps races the rating shown is that of each runner at the time that the entries for the race were confirmed. Any subsequently published change to a rating, either up or down, is shown in brackets following the rating.

Our easy guide to getting the most from your racecard. Our new racecard key identifies the main runner and rider elements: You must be 18 or over to place a bet

You may be asked to provide proof of your age when placing a bet. If you cannot produce this, your bet will not be accepted.

COURT OF SESSION was below par at Yarmouth a fortnight ago, but he was a good third at the same course on his penultimate start and a reproduction of that would give him every chance The addition of more severe headgear (visor replaces cheekpieces) and the presence of a comparatively experienced jockey are other factors that help tilt the scales in his favour Though Four Adaay’s losing run continues to mount, she is proving consistent and is second choice ahead of My Boy Jack.

PLAY SMARTER

The first four home in this year’s Albany all look smart and the runner-up in that race, AWAKEN, is very difficult to oppose in her bid to make it third time lucky now back in maiden company. She had a few subsequent winners behind when a clear second on debut at Yarmouth prior to that terrific Royal Ascot effort, form which has been boosted by the subsequent Group-race victories of the winner (Venetian Sun) and fourth home (Fitzella). Newcomers Stolen and Catching The Moon can fill the places

There will be no prizes for originality in putting forward last-time-out winners DINAMO and Brightling as the two to concentrate on, but, at the same time, they’re the ones most likely to come to the fore. Marginal preference is for Dinamo, who admittedly got first run on a rival who is starting to prove rather frustrating when opening her account at Thirsk, but that was a step forward nonetheless and she’s only gone up 2lb Baybe Driver is third choice ahead of Spirit Star

The Horserace Betting Levy Board prize fund schemes provide for the estimated inclusion of £134,735 in ratecard and incremental prize money at this racecourse from 23rdJune to 14thSeptember 2025.

Horse Welfare at Leicester Racecourse

At every meeting at Leicester Racecourse there are two specially-qualified equine vets appointed to look after the welfare of all horses in action. During the race one vet will be following the runners and can attend to a horse in the same response time as the Paramedic Teams responsible for treating injured jockeys The second vet is based below the stewards box in the grandstand, is in radio contact with his colleague following the runners, and can respond immediately to any uncovered emergency. In addition there is a third vet, a British Horseracing Authority Veterinary team and the stewards

The Racecourse also employs a specialist Horse Ambulance Team, equipped with a modern equine ambulance to enable injured horses to be transported safely to a veterinary hospital for treatment. It is now standard practice for screens to be erected around any horse receiving veterinary attention on the course. This does not reflect on the severity of an injury, but allows the vet some privacy in which to administer treatment and provides the horse with a calm environment in which to make a recovery. Please do not assume the worst if you see screens erected around a fallen horse

WAVE ROCK: Following its run on 15/7/2025 it was reported that the jockey had trouble removing blindfold.

Probable S.P’s: 11-8 Suhub (GB), 2-1 Aspull (GB), 10-1 Release The Storm (GB), 12-1 Nige (GB), 16-1 Potomac River (GB), 100-1 Symphony of Joy (IRE), Wave Rock (IRE), 150-1 Just Adair (GB), Miss Allsorts (IRE), 200-1 Hampson Green (GB), 250-1 Lady of The Champ (GB), 300-1 Mr Phillips (GB)

Not much went wright for SUHUB on her reappearance in a Haydock handicap during the spring and she is the clear pick judged on her promising 2-y-o exploits Aspull will need to raise his game in order to defy a penalty for his recent debut success at Salisbury, but he commands respect nonetheless and is preferred to newcomer Release The Storm for forecast purposes

PLAY SMARTER

A number of in-form sorts in opposition with the narrow vote in favour of GRAND HARBOUR. He was again beaten at short odds at Salisbury 18 days ago but shouldn’t be long in picking up a race of this nature for his shrewd stable and he can take full advantage of his 3-y-o allowance here Fellow 3-y-o Colinski and Spectacular Style are just a couple of others to consider
