FAMILY FUN DAY MONDAY 26th MAY, 2025
We have 7 races today , the first of which is at 1.55pm and the last at 5.25pm.
We would like to thank our sponsors today who are King Power, The British European Breeders Fund and the Pateman family.
As this is our family funday you can find lots of family entertainment within the picnic area such as – Toy roundabout, Crazy Pyramid, Fun House, Kids bungee trampolines and face painter, all of which are just £1 each. We are also excited to have a Cosplayer from Deadpool plus a further 8 characters so get your selfies at the ready.
Important points to note today are:
Public bars and food stands will close today immediately following the final race and the racecourse will close shortly after.
There is walk-in space available today within the Nelson Restaurant, therefore should you be interested in a 5 course meal please pop up and speak to our friendly team.
Please take a look at the racecourse map within your racecard to familiarise yourself with our facilities and in particular the location of our first aid unit. We have 3 active first-aiders available today plus a crowd doctor for your safety.
For our loyal Owners and Trainers we have provided the Club Room for your food plus the Club Terrace, Executive Room and 1st floor boxes PLUS OUR NEW PREMIER ROOM downstairs which we encourage you to enjoy.
Annual badge holders can use the Top floor boxes today plus use of the Club Terrace and the Executive Room for drinks.
Please be aware that we are now cashless on all bar and food outlets accepting only debit or credit cards. Please be assured that turnstiles and betting facilities will continue to accept cash for the time being. For those customers who either forget their cards or do not possess a debit card or credit card, we have special vouchers within the main office where you will be able to exchange your cash for vouchers and should you not spend your vouchers on the day you will be able to exchange them back for cash before you leave (up to 30 minutes after the last race), or use them on a future meeting.
Today these are situated at the Main Office. Please remember to purchase your Ladies Day tickets soon as they are selling fast and once gone it is unlikely that there will be any available to purchase on the day.
HAVE A GREAT DAY, THANK YOU FOR SUPPORTING US AND WE HOPE TO SEE YOU AGAIN TOMORROW FOR OUR STUDENT RACEDAY.

Official BHA Rating
Each horse has been given a star rating, these are defined below:
★★★★★ Selected to win the race.
★★★★✩ Good chance of being placed.
★★★✩✩ By no means out of the reckoning but at least one or two hold stronger claims
★★✩✩✩ Unlikely to win but not totally without hope
★✩✩✩✩ Can be given little or no chance
The BHA Handicappers allot ratings to horses once they have taken part in a sufficient number of races to enable the Handicappers to make a numerical assessment of each horse’s ability. The principal purpose of the ratings is to determine the weight to be carried by each runner in handicap races, with the Handicappers aiming to provide each participant with an equal chance based on its best recent form under its optimum conditions A horse rated 100, for example, would be set to carry 1lb more than a horse rated 99 (ignoring any penalties or allowances). The ratings published in the racecard for handicap races are the ratings that were used to calculate the weight to be carried by each horse, whilst in non-handicaps races the rating shown is that of each runner at the time that the entries for the race were confirmed. Any subsequently published change to a rating, either up or down, is shown in brackets following the rating.
Our easy guide to getting the most from your racecard. Our new racecard key identifies the main runner and rider elements: You must be 18 or over to place a bet
You may be asked to provide proof of your age when placing a bet. If you cannot produce this, your bet will not be accepted.

SAGUARO BLOSSOM showed enough in her first two starts to suggest she should be up to taking this, the addition of headgear may well ensure a sterner finishing effort than she produced at Kempton last time. Velvet Whisper showed promise on debut and is worth another chance following a break, while Be An Angel could be better suited by the drop back to 6f

The pick of several appealing candidates is HUCKLESBROOK, who was progressive at 2 yrs and shaped well on his recent reappearance at Ascot. Crestofdistinction opened his account at Kempton three weeks ago and looks a big threat now pitched into a handicap off a plausible mark, while Fondo Blanco is highly likely to be in the thick of things once again and cases can also be made for both Huscal and Prince of India.

Any race in which a horse is supplemented does not affect Rule 4(A).
In the event of a race being postponed to another day, ante-post bets placed before the entries have closed will stand and will only be made void if the race is abandoned or made void, if the horse is balloted out or eliminated under the previously mentioned schedule 8 of the BHA’s Rules of Racing or if the venue is changed. Ante-post bets placed after the entries have closed will be void, except when the race is run at a later date at the same venue and entries for the race are not reopened, in which case bets will stand.

If the final declarations do not stand, bets will be void. Bets on a horse declared by the Starter ‘not to have started’ will be void.
