For our loyal Owners and Trainers we have provided the Paddock Pavilion where you will find televisions, a bar, complimentary tea and coffee and a two course meal plus additional viewing from the Top Floor Boxes today or the Club Terrace area.

Annual badge holders can use the Paddock Marquee with complimentary tea and coffee today plus use of the Top Floor Boxes and the terrace For the bar we would ask you to pop into the Paddock Pavilion next door

Please be aware that we are now cashless on all bar and food outlets accepting only debit or credit cards Please be assured that turnstiles and betting facilities will continue to accept cash for the time being. For those customers who either forget their cards or do not possess a debit card or credit card, we have opened “voucher outlets” where you will be able to exchange your cash for vouchers and should you not spend your vouchers on the day you will be able to exchange them back for cash from the main office before you leave (up to 30 minutes after the last race), or use them on a future meeting. This evening, these outlets are situated at the Main Office, the Main Tote building and the Betting Hall Tote.We are pleased to say that this change has sped up service and improved security. • Our Veterinary Treatment rooms have been refurbished and updated, enabling our Veterinary Surgeons to give the best treatment as quick as possible if required.

Hope Against Cancer, Leicestershire and Rutland’s local cancer research charity is delighted and honoured to be hosting our 20th Anniversary Race Evening here at Leicester Racecourse.

- Our caring and supportive nurses at the Hope Cancer Trial Centre, keeping local cancer patients comfortable and reassured.

- And of course, those wonderful people, who having been on their own cancer journey, who choose to use this experience to raise vital funds to help us.

You join us this year as we mark the Charity’s 20th anniversary. Over our 20 years your support has helped us to Discover, Deliver and Share Hope against cancer in the following ways:

• Discovering - Funding over 100 original research projects with our partners at the local universities and hospitals.

• Delivering - Building the world-class Hope Cancer Trials Centre, which has now had more than 30,000 patient attendances since 2012.

• Sharing - Helping dozens of new cancer treatments come into use and helping nurture a new generation of cancer treatment specialists.

Horse Welfare at Leicester Racecourse

At every meeting at Leicester Racecourse there are two specially-qualified equine vets appointed to look after the welfare of all horses in action. During the race one vet will be following the runners and can attend to a horse in the same response time as the Paramedic Teams responsible for treating injured jockeys The second vet is based below the stewards box in the grandstand, is in radio contact with his colleague following the runners, and can respond immediately to any uncovered emergency. In addition there is a third vet, a British Horseracing Authority Veterinary team and the stewards

The Racecourse also employs a specialist Horse Ambulance Team, equipped with a modern equine ambulance to enable injured horses to be transported safely to a veterinary hospital for treatment. It is now standard practice for screens to be erected around any horse receiving veterinary attention on the course This does not reflect on the severity of an injury, but allows the vet some privacy in which to administer treatment and provides the horse with a calm environment in which to make a recovery. Please do not assume the worst if you see screens erected around a fallen horse
