Select your horse Note their name and saddlecloth number.

Choose your bet. ‘To win’ or ‘each-way’ are popular types of bet.

‘To win’ is for your horse to come first.

EXPERT VIEW

How the experts rate the horse’s chances:

2. BHA rating = the higher the number, the better the horse

3. Timeform view and TFR rating

4. HORSE’S TRAINER & THEIR LOCATION

Look out for the summary of leading course trainers before each race

5. JOCKEY

Listen out for any jockeys who are having a successful day.

PLAY SMARTER

The penny dropped late for SPRING PROMISE on debut last month and she is sure to progress with that experience under her belt, perhaps markedly so Senesi has showed up well in a pair of starts so far and is much respected, whilst it would be no surprise if newcomers Queen Regent and Veil of Shadows were able to make their presence felt.

PLAY SMARTER

Preference is for CHENG GONG, who returned to form from out of the blue when third in a C&D handicap last week. He sported a first-time visor that day and it remains to be seen if he’ll back that up with cheekpieces refitted in place of the visor, but he will have every chance off this 1lb lower mark if the change of headgear doesn’t prove detrimental. Yagan’s latest effort was creditable and he will be a threat if responding well to the addition of blinkers, while Winklevi also merits respect.
