— Decide the amount – or stake – you are comfortable to bet. — Place your bet. There are different places to bet on course; The Tote, racecourse bookmakers, betting shop or online. Each option offers a different experience. — Collect. Once ‘Weighed-in’ has been announced, present your betting slip and collect any winnings.

PLAY SMARTER
MELLYS FLYER is on the up since dropped back to this trip and he was well on top at the finish when scoring over C&D a month ago, so the hat-trick looks firmly on the cards unless he gets in a speed duel with Enduring. Fellow last-time-out winner Night Narcissus should be thereabouts again and a bigger effort from Arousing can’t be ruled out.

PLAY SMARTER
TRUE ICON had plenty up her sleeve when opening her account in a novice at Lingfield recently and, provided she can secure a reasonable tactical position from stall 10, she’s capable of following up from a potentially lenient mark. Nikki’s Girl and Madame Fenella, both placed last time, strike as the likeliest dangers.

PLAY SMARTER
RIBBON ROSE caused something of a shock when landing a Newmarket maiden on debut last season, but there was no fluke about it and the form looks solid, so she’s worth a chance to defy a penalty in what appears to be an average novice. Tickets is open to improvement, so he’s feared, while Cotai Star strikes as a notable newcomer for a yard that should have him well prepped.

ALMUFEED continues to go from strength-to-strength, rattling off the 4-timer in good style over 11f here 2 weeks ago. A 6lb higher mark shouldn’t prevent another bold bid and he can go in again. Allowed is similarly upwardly mobile and feared most. Trevolli and Winklevi complete the shortlist.

PLAY SMARTER
MCQUEEN did well to get up late when scoring over C&D a couple of months ago and the form is proving solid, so he’s worth a chance to land the hat-trick for all this appears to be a competitive event for the grade. Shorts On is another to consider following a successful debut for his current stable, while Amjad seems capable of defying his current mark if things drop right.

G N I C RAEEDS N OU Y TheGamblingActreview Email your MP in less than a minute - we can all make a difference! We absolutely support the objectives of protecting vulnerable individuals from gambling-related harm, but it is imperative that any new legislation is proportionate, targeted and evidence-based and will not result in any unintended economic consequences to British horse racing. As a supporter of horseracing, we urge you to make your MP aware that you do not want any future gambling regulation to affect your civil liberties and freedom to choose how you spend your time and money enjoying horseracing. Potential measures could include affordability checks and limits on how much you can stake and deposit.
Simply: 1. Visit racingtv.eaction.org.uk/GamblingReview 2. Enter your postcode to find your MP 3. Put your name to a prepared letter The process is straightforward and will take less than a minute to complete, but could make a real difference to the future of the sport.
