WELCOME
Saturday 25th March 2023
Welcome to Kelso for the second day of the Go North Festival.
The Go North Festival, which commenced on Friday at Musselburgh, is a collaborative effort between three different northern racecourses and the BHA Tomorrow the travelling circus moves on to Carlisle for the concluding day of the three-day meeting. The objective is to create an aspirational race programme that helps to develop jumping talent in the North - a programme of nine series finals which encourage racehorse owners to race (and maybe even keep) their horses in the North.

We are extremely grateful to BetVictor for their sponsorship of today’s programme alongside the Schloss Roxburghe Hotel. Together with the broadcast coverage provided by the ITV Racing team, their generous support is integral to the staging of this valuable programme.
Today we stage two Go North Series Finals, named for two favourites of the northern racing scene: Cab On Target and Jodami. We also stage the £50,000 Final of the Herring Queen Mares Novices Hurdle Series, the inaugural running of which was won by the Nicky Henderson trained Theatre Glory - who played a creditable supporting role in Honeysuckle’s curtain call on racing’s most celebrated stage last week
Elsewhere on the programme, Big River bids to become Kelso’s winningmost horse in the BetVictor Handicap Chase. Please show your appreciation to the connections of all of the runners on today’s programme. We are grateful for the opportunity to see so many outstanding horses gathered at Kelso and we wish all of the connections a truly enjoyable afternoon.
Finally, we’d like to extend a warm welcome to all racegoers – you help to create the wonderful atmosphere that Kelso is known for. Good luck and may you find plenty of winners.
