BETTING EXPLAINED

Select your horse. Note their name and saddlecloth number

Choose your bet. ‘To win’ or ‘each-way’ are popular types of bet.

‘To win’ is for your horse to come first.

‘Each-way’ is for your horse to come first or to be placed. It’s two bets, so ‘£2 each-way’ = £4 total bet.

Decide the amount – or stake – you are comfortable to bet.

Place your bet. There are different places to bet on course; The Tote, racecourse bookmakers, betting shop or online. Each option offers a different experience.

Collect. Once ‘Weighed-in’ has been announced, present your betting slip and collect any winnings.

How the experts rate the horse’s chances:

In a tricky 7 runner handicap, it could pay to side with OF COURSE YOU CAN whose best efforts have come on sharp right-handed tracks and she’s likely to be well positioned if this becomes a test of speed at the trip Ile De Jersey was having only her second start of the season at Cheltenham (following a long absence) and may be worth another chance, with better expected from Mermaids Cave (first time headgear) and Callin Baton Rouge (returning from a break)

YOU MUST BE 18 OR OVER TO PLACE A BET

You may be asked to provide proof of your age when placing a bet.

If you cannot produce this your bet will not be accepted.

Probable S.P’s: 5-2 Knights Affair (GB), 7-2 Les’s Destiny Star (IRE), 9-2 Theatre of Flight (GB), 11-2 Brooklyn Callin (IRE), 15-2 Luwdvig (FR), 33-1 Jungle Wood (FR), Te Deum (FR), 150-1 Sixty Plus (IRE)

Hard to be confident about any of these but LES’S DESTINY STAR is from the family of the useful American Mike and could well have more to offer now sent hurdling. Knights Affair was a fairly useful stayer on the Flat and could make an impact on hurdles debut, while Theatre of Flight is open to improvement on only his second hurdles start Point winner Brooklyn Callin didn’t achieve much in bumpers but may do better now.
