THE JOCKEY CLUB WELCOMES YOU
Welcome to Huntingdon Racecourse, where the excitement of jumps racing takes centre stage this afternoon with an impressive line-up of horses and jockeys ready to compete on track.
As always, a big thank you to Racing TV for their support and a special thanks to Gowing & Hunt for sponsoring the Gowing & Hunt Handicap Steeplechase at 2:30pm and the Gowing & Hunt Handicap Hurdle Race at 4:30pm.
As we approach the end of the season, the competition among the Fairfax Leading Trainers and Jockeys intensifies, with the battle between jockeys Paddy Brennan and Sean Bowen down to the wire. Fergal O’Brien continues to lead the trainers’ standings, but the battle for the second and third spots is fiercely contested between training duo Oliver Greenall & Joshua Guerriero and Dan Skelton.
We would like to express our deepest gratitude to all our guests for joining us at Huntingdon Racecourse throughout this incredible season Your unwavering support has made each race day an unforgettable experience. But before we bid farewell, we have one final fixture that promises to be a true spectacle. Mark your calendars for the Dino-Mite season finale on Monday 29 May. Prepare yourselves for a roaring good time as we transport you to a world of Jurassic-themed activities and entertainment for the whole family to enjoy.

QOYA and Only Fools are both of strong interest now handicapping in this sphere and, armed with their 4-y-o allowances, they could be the pair to focus on. Marginal preference is for the former, who did pretty well on the level for William Haggas last year and it was a decent mares’ novice at Ffos Las in which she was fourth on her hurdles debut in January Well Done Dani and Ayr of Elegance are others to consider

The dress code is smart casual. The Racecourse reserves the right to refuse admission to patrons failing to comply with this request.
Emergency Evacuation
Huntingdon Racecourse has significantly enhanced Safety and Security measures this year to enhance your safety, comfort and enjoyment of the day. However, an incident may occur which is beyond our control and it is important that you are aware of how we intend to look after you in the event of an emergency. As part of our safety management, we have employed professionally trained and experienced stewards and you will see them at various points throughout the racecourse. In the event of a situation, which requires partial or full evacuation of the stands or racecourse, announcements will be broadcast and stewards will undertake the responsibility of ushering you to a place of safety; it is essential that you follow their instructions. Please take your immediate belongings with you and proceed out of the area quickly and calmly with the guidance of the stewards. The evacuation procedures have been carefully planned to lead you to a safe area. Should it be necessary to evacuate the course itself, there will be two main options; firstly to return to your vehicles if safe to do so and leave via the main entrance. Secondly, should it not be safe to return to your vehicles, you will be requested to leave via an emergency evacuation gate, either to the assembly Point behind the Clubhouse, overflow to the picnic car park or if both these areas are compromised then to use the Centre of the Course, where you will receive further instructions. It may give you peace of mind if you pre plan and agree a meeting place, just in case you become separated from your party. The above is precautionary only and we trust that the procedures will never be required. However, in the event of an emergency, remember; take your belongings with you under the directions of the Stewards, proceed quickly and calmly to the safe area.
IMPORTANT NOTICES
Health And Safety Notice
The Racecourse would be grateful if racegoers would observe all Health and Safety requirements whilst at Huntingdon Racecourse. The Emergency Exits from the Bars onto the Grandstand steppings are painted yellow and we would appreciate it if Racegoers would not stop in this area. We would also be grateful if only those that are Disabled use the Disabled Viewing Ramp and that parents keep a close eye on children and prevent them from climbing on the running rails and getting onto the actual racecourse. We would also like to remind racegoers that the FIRST AID room is located on the ground floor of the Cromwell Stand. Public access is prohibited to the Centre Course.
Racehorse & Jockey Welfare
The welfare of the sport’s equine and human participants is paramount to British Horseracing. All racehorses competing in Britain are stabled at the premises of trainers who are licensed by The British Horseracing Authority. The standards demanded by The BHA of licensed racehorse trainers far exceed those prescribed by animal welfare legislation. The British Horseracing Authority similarly licenses every racecourse, setting high standards for the racing surface and all parts of the course used by competitors, both human and equine. BHA Officials ensure that racecourses delivers these standards. In addition Huntingdon Racecourse employs three veterinary surgeons, whose sole responsibility it is to provide care to the horses throughout their time at the racecourse. In the event of an incident on the racecourse, any horse affected will receive immediate treatment from the racecourse’s veterinary team. Qualified paramedics and doctors are also on hand in the case of any incident vinvolving a jockey.
If any incident occurs during a race it is routine practice for screens to be erected around the horse or jockey receiving treatment. This is to allow the veterinary or medical personnel to make a safe and accurate diagnosis and so that they may perform any treatment in a private and calm environment. If necessary, horses and riders will be transported from the course to receive further treatment at the nearest equine hospital or Accident & Emergency hospital.
Photography
Racegoers please note it is not permitted to take photographs on racecourses except within the areas normally open to the public. Amateur photographers must ensure that they do not intrude upon areas used by professional photographers. Flash photography is not permitted in any circumstances.
