THE JOCKEY CLUB WELCOMES YOU
Welcome to Huntingdon where we are delighted to have gained an extra fixture following the cold snap we’ve recently had.
We have six races on today’s card, including the feature race, the Grade 3 Visit racingtv.com Handicap Hurdle, which is a qualifier for the Two-Mile Challenger Hurdle Series. Horses which have placed in the first eight of this qualifier will be eligible to enter the finale held at Haydock in April
Along with the action on the track, off the track we encourage you to enjoy your time with us today whilst exploring the site You will find plenty of food and beverage options available at Lentons and Hurdles, keeping you cosy and replete as you take in the racing from our on-course vantage points
We have the M1 Agency Sidney Banks Raceday less than 10 days away on Thursday 9th February, in honour of local trainer and father to our former chairman Michael Banks. In addition, we will be showcasing a double-bill of action with live coverage from the Festival on our big screens at our Cheltenham
From Afar Raceday on Wednesday 15th March. Tickets for both these meetings are on sale through our website www.thejockeyclub.co.uk/huntingdon Be sure to book your seat in advance for any hospitality experiences including spaces at our award-winning Peterborough restaurant.
I hope that you have a fantastic time at Huntingdon today and wish the horses and their connections the very best of luck.

Those with previous hurdles experience don’t set a tall standard and it may pay to take a chance on ALLIHIES. A fairly useful performer on the Flat in Ireland, he starts out for a top yard now tackling timber and it would come as no surprise to see him make his mark. Aintree bumper scorer Elogio is also of interest, while prolific Flat scorer Captain Kane also demands a market check now hurdling.

Behaviour And Dress Code
The Racecourse reserves the right to refuse admission to all enclosures or to eject any person from the racecourse. When patrons are refused or ejected from the racecourse they will not be entitled to a refund. When leaving the Racecourse please be considerate of our neighbours.
The dress code is smart casual. The Racecourse reserves the right to refuse admission to patrons failing to comply with this request.
Huntingdon Racecourse has significantly enhanced Safety and Security measures this year to enhance your safety, comfort and enjoyment of the day. However, an incident may occur which is beyond our control and it is important that you are aware of how we intend to look after you in the event of an emergency. As part of our safety management, we have employed professionally trained and experienced stewards and you will see them at various points throughout the racecourse. In the event of a situation, which requires partial or full evacuation of the stands or racecourse, announcements will be broadcast and stewards will undertake the responsibility of ushering you to a place of safety; it is essential that you follow their instructions. Please take your immediate belongings with you and proceed out of the area quickly and calmly with the guidance of the stewards. The evacuation procedures have been carefully planned to lead you to a safe area. Should it be necessary to evacuate the course itself, there will be two main options; firstly to return to your vehicles if safe to do so and leave via the main entrance. Secondly, should it not be safe to return to your vehicles, you will be requested to leave via an emergency evacuation gate, either to the assembly Point behind the Clubhouse, overflow to the picnic car park or if both these areas are compromised then to use the Centre of the Course, where you will receive further instructions. It may give you peace of mind if you pre plan and agree a meeting place, just in case you become separated from your party. The above is precautionary only and we trust that the procedures will never be required. However, in the event of an emergency, remember; take your belongings with you under the directions of the Stewards, proceed quickly and calmly to the safe area.
IMPORTANT NOTICES
Health And Safety Notice
The Racecourse would be grateful if racegoers would observe all Health and Safety requirements whilst at Huntingdon Racecourse. The Emergency Exits from the Bars onto the Grandstand steppings are painted yellow and we would appreciate it if Racegoers would not stop in this area. We would also be grateful if only those that are Disabled use the Disabled Viewing Ramp and that parents keep a close eye on children and prevent them from climbing on the running rails and getting onto the actual racecourse. We would also like to remind racegoers that the FIRST AID room is located on the ground floor of the Cromwell Stand. Public access is prohibited to the Centre Course.
Racehorse & Jockey Welfare
The welfare of the sport’s equine and human participants is paramount to British Horseracing. All racehorses competing in Britain are stabled at the premises of trainers who are licensed by The British Horseracing Authority. The standards demanded by The BHA of licensed racehorse trainers far exceed those prescribed by animal welfare legislation. The British Horseracing Authority similarly licenses every racecourse, setting high standards for the racing surface and all parts of the course used by competitors, both human and equine. BHA Officials ensure that racecourses delivers these standards. In addition Huntingdon Racecourse employs three veterinary surgeons, whose sole responsibility it is to provide care to the horses throughout their time at the racecourse. In the event of an incident on the racecourse, any horse affected will receive immediate treatment from the racecourse’s veterinary team. Qualified paramedics and doctors are also on hand in the case of any incident vinvolving a jockey.
If any incident occurs during a race it is routine practice for screens to be erected around the horse or jockey receiving treatment. This is to allow the veterinary or medical personnel to make a safe and accurate diagnosis and so that they may perform any treatment in a private and calm environment. If necessary, horses and riders will be transported from the course to receive further treatment at the nearest equine hospital or Accident & Emergency hospital.
Photography
Racegoers please note it is not permitted to take photographs on racecourses except within the areas normally open to the public. Amateur photographers must ensure that they do not intrude upon areas used by professional photographers. Flash photography is not permitted in any circumstances.
