Welcome to Huntingdon for an afternoon featuring six compelling Jump races that are sure to provide great excitement. We are fortunate that many of our fixtures are well supported by owners and trainers and we are very grateful to them for choosing to run their horses here. Indeed, some high-class horses that have recently performed well at Huntingdon went on to success at last week’s Cheltenham Festival, most notably Chambard, who won a Novices’ Limited Handicap Chase here on 6th March before winning the Kim Muir. Pink Legend, the winner of our Lady Protectress Mares’ Chase was narrowly denied in the Grade 2 Mares’ Chase at Cheltenham and December’s Peterborough Chase runner-up Funambule Sivola ran a gallant race to finish second in the Queen Mother Champion Chase. Today’s card has received some great entries and the Racing TV Fillies’ Juvenile Hurdle looks a particularly interesting contest, with some nice young horses due to line up. Our opening Racing TV Maiden Hurdle features plenty of unexposed horses to keep an eye on, while the Racing TV Handicap Chase looks like a fascinating puzzle to try and solve. I wish you the best of luck finding some winners this afternoon. Thankfully, good progress has been made with our reinstatement works and our facilities are beginning to feel a bit more like they used to, with the Cromwell Stand back open for Members and both Lentons and Gurneys open in full. There is still plenty of improvements to be made, both for our racegoers and for participants, but we are working hard to ensure these are implemented as quickly as possible and thank you all for your ongoing patience. Emergency Evacuation

• Entry to the racecourse is subject to the right of the Racecourse Executive to refuse to admit and/or to expel, without prior notice, any person whose behaviour is considered to be unruly or unacceptable or is a disqualiﬁed person.

Huntingdon Racecourse has significantly enhanced Safety and Security measures this year to enhance your safety, comfort and enjoyment of the day. However, an incident may occur which is beyond our control and it is important that you are aware of how we intend to look after you in the event of an emergency. As part of our safety management, we have employed professionally trained and experienced stewards and you will see them at various points throughout the racecourse. In the event of a situation, which requires partial or full evacuation of the stands or racecourse, announcements will be broadcast and stewards will undertake the responsibility of ushering you to a place of safety; it is essential that you follow their instructions. Please take your immediate belongings with you and proceed out of the area quickly and calmly with the guidance of the stewards. The evacuation procedures have been carefully planned to lead you to a safe area. Should it be necessary to evacuate the course itself, there will be two main options; firstly to return to your vehicles if safe to do so and leave via the main entrance. Secondly, should it not be safe to return to your vehicles, you will be requested to leave via an emergency evacuation gate, either to the assembly Point behind the Clubhouse, overflow to the picnic car park or if both these areas are compromised then to use the Centre of the Course, where you will receive further instructions. It may give you peace of mind if you pre plan and agree a meeting place, just in case you become separated from your party. The above is precautionary only and we trust that the procedures will never be required. However, in the event of an emergency, remember; take your belongings with you under the directions of the Stewards, proceed quickly and calmly to the safe area.

• Bringing Food and Drink into the Main Enclosure other than that purchased at the racecourse is prohibited. • Racegoers must at all times comply with any conditions, rules and regulations in operation, including the observance of no drinking areas for safety reasons. • No dogs allowed anywhere on site except guide dogs. Dogs must not be left in vehicles and anyone found leaving a dog in a vehicle may face prosecution. • In the event of racing being abandoned, refunds on tickets purchased will be paid as follows: - Abandonment before completion of the ﬁrst race - full refund - Abandonment between the conclusion of the ﬁrst race and third race - racegoers will receive a 50% refund.- Abandonment thereafter - no refund. • All refunds must be claimed within 28 days of the racemeeting. Huntingdon will have no responsibility or liability of any nature in respect of any refund request received after 28 days.

Behaviour And Dress Code The Racecourse reserves the right to refuse admission to all enclosures or to eject any person from the racecourse. When patrons are refused or ejected from the racecourse they will not be entitled to a refund. When leaving the Racecourse please be considerate of our neighbours. The dress code is smart casual. The Racecourse reserves the right to refuse admission to patrons failing to comply with this request.

Health And Safety Notice The Racecourse would be grateful if racegoers would observe all Health and Safety requirements whilst at Huntingdon Racecourse. The Emergency Exits from the Bars onto the Grandstand steppings are painted yellow and we would appreciate it if Racegoers would not stop in this area. We would also be grateful if only those that are Disabled use the Disabled Viewing Ramp and that parents keep a close eye on children and prevent them from climbing on the running rails and getting onto the actual racecourse. We would also like to remind racegoers that the FIRST AID room is located on the ground ﬂoor of the Cromwell Stand. Public access is prohibited to the Centre Course.

Racehorse & Jockey Welfare The welfare of the sport’s equine and human participants is paramount to British Horseracing. All racehorses competing in Britain are stabled at the premises of trainers who are licensed by The British Horseracing Authority. The standards demanded by The BHA of licensed racehorse trainers far exceed those prescribed by animal welfare legislation. The British Horseracing Authority similarly licenses every racecourse, setting high standards for the racing surface and all parts of the course used by competitors, both human and equine. BHA Officials ensure that racecourses delivers these standards. In addition Huntingdon Racecourse employs three veterinary surgeons, whose sole responsibility it is to provide care to the horses throughout their time at the racecourse. In the event of an incident on the racecourse, any horse affected will receive immediate treatment from the racecourse’s veterinary team. Qualiﬁed paramedics and doctors are also on hand in the case of any incident vinvolving a jockey.

If any incident occurs during a race it is routine practice for screens to be erected around the horse or jockey receiving treatment. This is to allow the veterinary or medical personnel to make a safe and accurate diagnosis and so that they may perform any treatment in a private and calm environment. If necessary, horses and riders will be transported from the course to receive further treatment at the nearest equine hospital or Accident & Emergency hospital.
