WELCOME E TO HEXHAM

Thursday 5th June will long be remembered as an historic day for the racecourse as we hosted Her Majesty Queen Camilla. After being introduced to Directors, staff, sponsors and guests Her Majesty took time to meet industry representatives and listen to the some of the many concerns and headwinds facing the sport. Following the discussion Her Majesty unveiled a plaque officially opening our new building to be known as “The Queen Camilla Stand”
The building will be open to all racegoers on a race day offering another level of cover and comfort as well as serving a comprehensive range of drinks from the bar.

Today is our Charity Raceday a massive thank you to the organiser Kevin Pattison and his guests responsible for sponsoring the 2nd,3rd,4th, and 5th races. Our thanks also go to Amy Clark for sponsoring the 1st race, “ukvinylmemories.co.uk” 6th race and “Brocksbushes” for our 7th race
Whether you are a regular visitor or first time at the course we hope you have an enjoyable and successful day and look forward to welcoming you back.
If in need of assistance when on the racecourse please contact the racecourse office situated next to the turnstiles or ask a member of racecourse, catering or stewarding staff who will only be too pleased to assist Robert Whitelock

BET TING WITH THE BOOKMAKERS
DIFFERENT WAYS TO BET - WIN OR EACH-WAY
The two main types of bet are win and each-way. For win bets, your horse needs to win the race outright An each-way bet is effectively two bets – one for your horse to win and one for it to be placed. So a £2 each-way bet will cost £4 A bookmaker taking each-way bets will display the terms on which they accept such bets on their board. In conjunction with The RCA, the bookmakers have introduced standard each-way terms. Bookmakers will provide these terms, or better, when offering each-way betting.
• Fewer than 3 runners - Win bets only, no places offered
• 3 or 4 runners – Win bets only Where a bookmaker wishes to depart from this default position they may offer place terms at 1/5 odds a place 1-2.
• 5 – 7 runners (inclusive) – 1/4 odds a place 1-2
• 8 or more runners – 1/5 odds a place 1-2-3
• Handicaps with 12 to 15 runners (inclusive) – 1/4 odds a place 1-2-3
• Handicaps with 16 to 21 runners (inclusive) – 1/5 odds a place 1-2-3-4
• Handicaps with 22 or more runners – 1/4 odds a place 1-2-3-4
PLACING YOUR BET
Shop around for the best odds When you have decided where to place your bet, state the number of your horse and the stake, for example “Number 4, £2 win” Listen to the bookmaker repeat the number of the horse and the stake to their clerk and hand them your money. You will then be given an itemised receipt detailing your bet and potential winnings. You should keep this safe until you have heard ‘Weighedin’ announced after the race If your bet is successful, hand your ticket to the bookmaker and they will give you your winnings

PLAY SMARTER
JUST OOT laid down fairly solid foundations with a view to handicaps when making the frame in a trio of maiden/novice hurdles this spring and gets the narrow vote to come out on top returned to this shorter trip. Recent Fakenham scorer Tara Iti is thriving on his racing and is an obvious danger, whilst this marked drop back in trip may see Tees Comp’s Clive in a better light. Blended Stealth is a threat if replicating his recent C&D success.

PLAY SMARTER
A chance is taken on TAKE A HIKE, who makes her chase debut on a potentially handy mark and the fact that she was second in both completed starts between the flags augurs well ahead of this switch to the larger obstacles. Halfway House Lad has a very good chance of reversing April’s C&D placings with Kicksaftersix on these revised terms and he is second choice ahead of that rival Ballydangan and Rob Roy Macgregor both have each-way claims.

TFRHHHII BHAFORM 4
TIMEFORM VIEW 9/1, didn’t achieve much when fourth of 5 in bumper at Sedgefield (17f, firm) on debut 32 days ago but he may do better for the experience.
TFRHHHHH BHAFORM 1- D
TIMEFORM VIEW Impressive winner of sole point bumper in April. Could have a big say on Rules debut.
RACECOURSE DEBUT
TFRHHHII BHAFORM
TIMEFORM VIEW Telescope mare. Dam, bumper winner (stayed 23f), half-sister to fairly useful chaser (stayed 3 1/2m)
Big Nasty Possibly the yard first string on jockey bookings but the betting should reveal more.
RACECOURSE DEBUT
TFRHHHHI BHAFORM 331-
TIMEFORM VIEW Kingston Hill mare with a decent pedigree. Made it third time lucky in Irish points in April and an interesting new recruit for the George Bewley yard.

TFRHHIII BHAFORM 5-
TIMEFORM VIEW Related to winners but only fifth in an Irish point in February and yard is 0-22 in bumpers in the last 5 seasons.
RACECOURSE DEBUT
TFRHHHHI BHAFORM
TIMEFORM VIEW Pether’s Moon filly Dam, 17f hurdle winner in France, half-sister to French hurdler (2 1/4m winner) Anneloralas (by Pether’s Moon). Noteworthy newcomer for a yard with a healthy bumper strike-rate.
RACECOURSE DEBUT
Probable S.P’s: 7-2 Matching Energy (GB), 4-1 Mornington Beach (IRE), 8-1 Fleet Street Flyer (GB), R Krista (GB), 10-1 Knockeranna Rose (IRE), Autumn Getaway (IRE), 11-1 Dotties Promise (GB), 12-1 La Lolita (FR), 14-1 Looks Matter (IRE)
In a race where the betting should prove informative the suggestion is MATCHING ENERGY, who had plenty to spare in a point bumper this spring and might be able to follow up on Rules debut. Mornington Beach is another who has tasted success in the pointing field, in her case over fences, and is second choice ahead of R Krista, whose stable is no stranger to bumper success.
TIMEFORM PREDICTION: 1.MATCHING ENERGY 2.MORNINGTON
