BET TING WITH THE BOOKMAKERS

DIFFERENT WAYS TO BET - WIN OR EACH-WAY

The two main types of bet are win and each-way. For win bets, your horse needs to win the race outright An each-way bet is effectively two bets – one for your horse to win and one for it to be placed. So a £2 each-way bet will cost £4 A bookmaker taking each-way bets will display the terms on which they accept such bets on their board. In conjunction with The RCA, the bookmakers have introduced standard each-way terms. Bookmakers will provide these terms, or better, when offering each-way betting.

• Fewer than 3 runners - Win bets only, no places offered

• 3 or 4 runners – Win bets only Where a bookmaker wishes to depart from this default position they may offer place terms at 1/5 odds a place 1-2.

• 5 – 7 runners (inclusive) – 1/4 odds a place 1-2

• 8 or more runners – 1/5 odds a place 1-2-3

• Handicaps with 12 to 15 runners (inclusive) – 1/4 odds a place 1-2-3

• Handicaps with 16 to 21 runners (inclusive) – 1/5 odds a place 1-2-3-4

• Handicaps with 22 or more runners – 1/4 odds a place 1-2-3-4

PLACING YOUR BET

Shop around for the best odds When you have decided where to place your bet, state the number of your horse and the stake, for example “Number 4, £2 win” Listen to the bookmaker repeat the number of the horse and the stake to their clerk and hand them your money. You will then be given an itemised receipt detailing your bet and potential winnings. You should keep this safe until you have heard ‘Weighedin’ announced after the race If your bet is successful, hand your ticket to the bookmaker and they will give you your winnings

TIMEFORM VIEW C&D winner in 2021 but lightly raced since and he was pulled up back here last month. Vulnerable for win purposes.

DECLARED RUNNERS 10 2023: KICKSAFTERSIX (IRE) 7 11 2

Stewards Note: GOING MOBILE: Following its run on 9/5/2024 it was reported that the horse was unsuited by the going. ROLLERRULER: Following its run on 21/5/2024 it was reported that the horse was found to have bled.

Probable S.P’s: 10-3 Shadows In The Sky (IRE), 4-1 Jet Patrol (IRE), 11-2 Divas Doyen (IRE), 15-2 Dream Jet (IRE), 10-1 Going Mobile (IRE), 11-1 Rollerruler (GB), 12-1 Augharue (IRE), 16-1 Breaking The Ice (IRE), 40-1 Kicksaftersix (IRE), 66-1 Barley Breeze (GB)

It could be worth chancing JET PATROL now that he’s switched to fences. Indeed, he was placed twice in points and the drying ground will aid his cause. Shadows In The Sky is next on the list having opened his Rules account here last time, while Breaking The Ice would also be a threat if on-song.

Please note the information in this Official Race Card, Weights, Pedigrees, Trainers Names, Descriptions, Performances and Values of races etc., have been added for the convenience of the Public.

They are subject to alteration and the management cannot be held responsible for omissions or errors.

In March, this year, my darling Sister Lisa was diagnosed with cancer of the lung and was admitted to the RVI then transferred to the Freeman hospital where she underwent surgery to remove her right lung. Due to the aggressive nature of the tumour she had to undergo 3 further major procedures and was transferred to Ward 21 ICU

The care my sister received from day 1 has been excellent and the best we could ever have hoped for.

Words can never express just how amazing everyone involved in Lisa’s care has been from the best surgeons, doctors , nurses and physios to those responsible for the pristine environment and everyone else behind the scenes.

On behalf of all of Lisa’s family I would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to each and every one of you.

As I write this Lisa remains in the excellent care of the true heroes of our NHS.
