We are pleased to be racing again following our winter break and the Racecourse Executive extend a warm welcome to all Owners, Trainers and Racegoers in attendance today. A notable change going forward, William Hill have taken over the operation of the racecourse betting shop. With Britbet operating for a number of years we felt a change to William Hill with their years of experience of running high street betting shops would provide an increased service and experience for you the racegoer.

As you will see we have been busy during the winter break erecting a permanent building on the marquee site to provide protection against the elements throughout the year Unfortunately the inclement weather at the beginning of the year delayed construction and as a consequence we are unable to allow access into the building today.

Located next to the Owners and Trainers Entrance, the facility offers superb views of the racecourse and serves a range of snacks throughout the day. Entry to this facility is restricted to owners and trainers who have a runner on the day.

PUBLIC BARS (Paddock Enclosure)

The Shire, Princess Anne and newly opened Bramble Tudor Bar situated at the top of the parade ring are open to all racegoers, provide a wide variety of drinks and snacks

PRIVATE BOXES ENDERBY, PATTERSON AND GILL BOXES

are situated on the 2nd floor of the Ramshaw Stand. Offering a wide variety of catering options the boxes are available to hire individually, accommodating between 20 -25 persons or can be configured to host up to 80 persons seated. Providing wonderful views of the racecourse the rooms have their own TOTE betting facility, Closed Circuit TV, well stocked bar as well as a seating area at the rear of the boxes.

HENDERSON SUITE

The Henderson Suite offers panoramic views of the surrounding countryside, course as well as both the parade ring and winners enclosure Capable of seating up to 120 guests The Henderson Suite where we serve our 4 course carvery buffet on a race day, is also ideal for entertaining, corporate hospitality and on non raceday’s provides the ideal venue for business conferences, seminars and weddings or other social functions.

THE CHASE BAR

Situated on the ground floor of the Ramshaw Stand this attractive bar with a stained glass backdrop and flagged floor has its own TOTE betting facility, closed circuit TV and allows access on to the club lawn for perfect viewing of the racing.

THE CURLEW ROOM

Situated on the first floor of the Ramshaw Stand, offering wonderful views of the course Tickets for The Curlew Room are available (minimum 2 persons) which provide your own table for the day. The Curlew Room has its own TOTE betting facility, closed circuit TV and serves a range of snack food and refreshments

The two main types of bet are win and each-way. For win bets, your horse needs to win the race outright An each-way bet is effectively two bets – one for your horse to win and one for it to be placed. So a £2 each-way bet will cost £4 A bookmaker taking each-way bets will display the terms on which they accept such bets on their board. In conjunction with The RCA, the bookmakers have introduced standard each-way terms. Bookmakers will provide these terms, or better, when offering each-way betting.
