U = Rider unseated
R = Horse refused to race

Select your horse. Note their name and saddlecloth number
Choose your bet. ‘To win’ or ‘each-way’ are popular types of bet.
‘To win’ is for your horse to come first.
‘Each-way’ is for your horse to come first or to be placed. It’s two bets, so ‘£2 each-way’ = £4 total bet.
How the experts rate the horse’s chances:
2. BHA rating = the higher the number, the better the horse.
3. Timeform view and TFR rating
Look out for the summary of leading course trainers before each race.
Listen out for any jockeys who are having a successful day.
OTHER USEFUL DETAILS
6. Owner’s colours worn by the Jockey
7. Saddlecloth number
8. Horse’s name & Country of birth
9. Days since the horse last run

Preference is for POLE STAR, who has run to a fairly useful level on both outings this month and with further progress on the cards, Charlie Johnston’s colt could well prove a tough nut to crack with Buick taking over in the plate His main threat may emerge from Valiancy, who looked badly in need of the experience but showed clear signs of ability on debut at Newbury a fortnight ago Earnest Belief and Simply Ruby can fight out third.

COMMANDING OFFICER is bred to be useful and, hailing from a top yard that has made an excellent start to the season with its 2-y-os, he earns the vote before market clues. Morris Dancer and Sweet Lord both appeal as the type to build on their debut efforts now stepping up in trip, with On The Inlet another debutant to note
The Great British Bonus (GBB) offers multiple bonuses of up to £20,000 per eligible race for The Great British Bonus (GBB) incentivises and rewards with breeding, buying and racing of British-bred fillies by paying out bonuses of up to £100,000 per filly And now with GBBPlus to further incentivise staying fillies and chasing mares, there are more reasons than ever to breed, buy and race British. DECLARED RUNNERS 13 2024: PEDRO VALENTINO (IRE) 3 9 6 Richard Kingscote 13-2 (Clive Cox) 11 ran Blinkers worn first time by No 8. Running for the first time since Gelding No 7, 8. Stewards Note:
CHILLYBREEZE: Following its run on 21/4/2025 it was reported that the horse hung left-handed under pressure. PIETRO: Following its run on 5/5/2025 it was reported that the horse hung left-handed late-on.
Probable S.P’s: 11-2 L’Karama (GB), 7-1 Jarham (GB), 8-1 Sunlit Uplands (IRE), Think of A Name (IRE), Pietro (IRE), 9-1 Honved (GB), 11-1 Lightning Galaxy (IRE), 16-1 Initial Blue (IRE), Invitorio (IRE), Brave Byreflection (IRE), 18-1 The Childe of Hale (GB), 22-1 Chilly Breeze (GB), 66-1 Final Night (GB)
Archie Watson’s L’KARAMA has found only one too good on each of his 2 starts in all-weather maidens since returning to action this spring and, appealing as the type who could yet have more to offer now handicapping, he earns the vote on turf debut operating from a handy draw This looks a deep race by class 5 standards though, with Pietro, Jarham and Sunlit Uplands just a trio of potential threats. Think OfA Name is another holding claims if seeing out the longer trip
We have agreed with our vets that the screen should be erected, whenever a horse requires veterinary treatment on the course. This does not reflect the severity of an injury, but does help to provide a calm environment, in which the vet is better able to treat the horse.
Please do not assume the worst if you see screens erected around a fallen horse.

Despite displaying clear signs of greenness, PARTICIPATE produced a highly promising debut effort when just touched off by a subsequent listed scorer at Salisbury last summer and, looking a sure-fire improver, Ralph Beckett’s filly is fancied to go one place better on return. Mister Winston has plenty about him physically and is a chief danger following his excellent second in a maiden at Chester’s May Meeting. Influential and Fan Club are others fancied to feature.
The Great British Bonus (GBB) incentivises and rewards with breeding, buying and racing of British-bred fillies by paying out bonuses of up to £100,000 per filly And now with GBBPlus to further incentivise staying fillies and chasing mares, there are more reasons than ever to breed, buy and race British. BEST ADVENTURE benefitted as expected from the step up in trip when off the mark at Newmarket 2 weeks ago, pulling clear with the runner-up, and looks capable of defying a 7lb rise. Atlantic Sunset shaped with plenty of promise switched to turf when runner-up on his handicap bow at Thirsk 2 weeks ago and rates a big threat along with Crackergee, who was only just edged out by a subsequent winner on his handicap bow at Kempton on return.

The welfare of the sport’s equine and human participants is paramount to British Horseracing. All racehorses competing in Britain are stabled at the premises of trainers who are licensed by The British Horseracing Authority The standards demanded by The BHA of licensed racehorse trainers far exceed those prescribed by animal welfare legislation The British Horseracing Authority similarly licenses every racecourse, setting high standards for the racing surface and all parts of the course used by competitors, both human and equine. BHA Officials ensure that racecourses delivers these standards In addition Haydock Park Racecourse employs a minimum of three veterinary surgeons, whose sole responsibility it is to provide care to the horses throughout their time at the racecourse In the event of an incident on the racecourse, any horse affected will receive immediate treatment from the racecourse’s veterinary team. Qualified paramedics and doctors are also on hand in the case of any incident involving a jockey If any incident occurs during a race it is routine practice for screens to be erected around the horse or jockey receiving treatment. This is to allow the veterinary or medical personnel to make a safe and accurate diagnosis and so that they may perform any treatment in a private and calm environment. If necessary, horses and riders will be transported from the course to receive further treatment at the nearest equine hospital or Accident & Emergency hospital
