FRIDAY 17 OCTOBER 2025

FRIDAY 17 OCTOBER 2025
On behalf of the team at Haydock Park Racecourse we would like to extend a very warm welcome to you for our CopyBet Flat Finale.
We are set for a fantastic afternoon of racing, with seven very competitive flat races taking place.
I would like to thank all the sponsors of today’s races, CopyBet, Weatherbys and Shape Engineering. It is a privilege to welcome these sponsors, we are very grateful for their continued support and we would like to wish them all a wonderful day with us
As we draw a close to our Flat season, I certainly feel it has been a memorable season here at Haydock Park, which I hope you have enjoyed. We have seen some top-quality action on course with particular highlights being Mgheera winning the Group 2 Temple Stakes, Symbol Of Honour winning the Group 2 Sandy Lane Stakes and Estrange winning the Group 2 Lancashire Oaks Our Group 1 showpiece, the Sprint Cup, was won by Big Mojo in a brilliant renewal of the race. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Haydock Park team for all their hard work during the season There is a tremendous amount of work that goes in behind the scenes and the facilitation of the brilliant season we have had is down to their collective hard work
We return on Saturday 22nd November with our flagship Jumps fixture, The Betfair Chase. We still have tickets and hospitality available, and we hope to welcome you back then for another brilliant renewal of the race
Thank you for choosing to spend today with ourselves. I would like to wish you the best of luck today if you are picking a winner!
Simon Tonge General Manager

We have agreed with our vets that the screen should be erected, whenever a horse requires veterinary treatment on the course. This does not reflect the severity of an injury, but does help to provide a calm environment, in which the vet is better able to treat the horse.
Please do not assume the worst if you see screens erected around a fallen horse.

PLAY SMARTER
BRAZILIAN BELLE looked an unlucky loser having met with trouble at crucial stages when third at Musselburgh 4 days ago and compensation may well await Michael Dods’ filly here. Knicks needs to dispel his latest Southwell run, yet the pick of his form this term gives him solid claims and he’s operating from a handy mark. Dual C&D winner Secret Mistral and Our Absent Friends round off the shortlist in the finale.

The welfare of the sport’s equine and human participants is paramount to British Horseracing. All racehorses competing in Britain are stabled at the premises of trainers who are licensed by The British Horseracing Authority The standards demanded by The BHA of licensed racehorse trainers far exceed those prescribed by animal welfare legislation The British Horseracing Authority similarly licenses every racecourse, setting high standards for the racing surface and all parts of the course used by competitors, both human and equine. BHA Officials ensure that racecourses delivers these standards In addition Haydock Park Racecourse employs a minimum of three veterinary surgeons, whose sole responsibility it is to provide care to the horses throughout their time at the racecourse In the event of an incident on the racecourse, any horse affected will receive immediate treatment from the racecourse’s veterinary team. Qualified paramedics and doctors are also on hand in the case of any incident involving a jockey If any incident occurs during a race it is routine practice for screens to be erected around the horse or jockey receiving treatment. This is to allow the veterinary or medical personnel to make a safe and accurate diagnosis and so that they may perform any treatment in a private and calm environment. If necessary, horses and riders will be transported from the course to receive further treatment at the nearest equine hospital or Accident & Emergency hospital
