CODE OF CONDUCT

As part of our joint commitment to each other and the communities in which we operate, all racegoers should be aware of the Code of Conduct and observe the following whilst at our Racecourse.

For the safety of other racegoers and racecourse staff, please consider wearing a face covering in busy indoor areas or outside where social distancing cannot be maintained.

If you feel you may be experiencing any of the recognised symptoms of Covid-19, please put on a face covering and speak to a member of staff in a well ventilated area. It is best to travel home if it is safe to do so

Regularly wash your hands, use hand sanitiser and avoid touching your face and dispose of any used tissues appropriately.

Familiarise yourself with your entry point and the location of amenities within the racecourse.

We are operating a cashless event. On-course bookmakers/pool betting operators may accept cash

Enjoy the vast amounts of space around the racecourse and avoid congregating in busy areas (for example, along the rail or by the Winning Post).

Make sure all walkways, corridors and doorways etc are clear before you walk through.

Follow all signage and the instructions of staff, officials or any emergency service personnel present at the racecourse.

Make sure other members of your group have read and understood these guidelines

Thank you so much for your continued support and co-operation

We hope you have a wonderful day with us

VETS SCREEN POLICY

We have agreed with our vets that the screen should be erected, whenever a horse requires veterinary treatment on the course. This does not reflect the severity of an injury, but does help to provide a calm environment, in which the vet is better able to treat the horse.

Please do not assume the worst if you see screens erected around a fallen horse.

Probable S.P’s: 3-1 Boston Run (IRE), 7-2 We Dare To Dream (IRE), 7-1 Captain Harry (IRE), 9-1 Sir Peter Fossick (IRE), 16-1 Mystical Storm (GB), Kirkdale (IRE), 18-1 Ruling Master (IRE), 20-1 Media (IRE), 22-1 Azoozi (GB), 28-1 Oselton (GB), 33-1 Harryella (GB), 50-1 Belabambina (GB)

WE DARE TO DREAM has plenty of winners in his pedigree and looked to have lots of ability when second at Ripon last month, so he gets the nod with improvement on the cards. Boston Run is a player and Captain Harry should also build on his initial outing.

PLAY SMARTER

NAAEY justified strong support when bolting up at Doncaster last month and with further progress on the cards, John &Thady Gosden’s 4-y-o is fancied to notch career success number 3 at the expense of Elladonna, who arrives on a hat-trick but rather curiously has the hood discarded on this occasion. Warda Jamila looks the most interesting of the 3-y-os so she completes the shortlist.

SMARTER

D DAY ARVALENREEVA looked mightily unlucky not to win at Windsor on her most recent outing in June, having had to wait for a gap for the best part of 2f, so she’s taken to gain compensation. Free Speech doubled her career tally in fine style at Pontefract in July and seems likely to give another good account, while Muqinah is an interesting handicap debutante

RACEHORSE & JOCKEY WELFARE

The welfare of the sport’s equine and human participants is paramount to British Horseracing. All racehorses competing in Britain are stabled at the premises of trainers who are licensed by The British Horseracing Authority The standards demanded by The BHA of licensed racehorse trainers far exceed those prescribed by animal welfare legislation The British Horseracing Authority similarly licenses every racecourse, setting high standards for the racing surface and all parts of the course used by competitors, both human and equine. BHA Officials ensure that racecourses delivers these standards In addition Haydock Park Racecourse employs a minimum of three veterinary surgeons, whose sole responsibility it is to provide care to the horses throughout their time at the racecourse In the event of an incident on the racecourse, any horse affected will receive immediate treatment from the racecourse’s veterinary team. Qualified paramedics and doctors are also on hand in the case of any incident involving a jockey If any incident occurs during a race it is routine practice for screens to be erected around the horse or jockey receiving treatment. This is to allow the veterinary or medical personnel to make a safe and accurate diagnosis and so that they may perform any treatment in a private and calm environment. If necessary, horses and riders will be transported from the course to receive further treatment at the nearest equine hospital or Accident & Emergency hospital
