CODE OF CONDUCT

As part of our joint commitment to each other and the communities in which we operate, all racegoers should be aware of the Code of Conduct and observe the following whilst at our Racecourse.

For the safety of other racegoers and racecourse staff, please consider wearing a face covering in busy indoor areas or outside where social distancing cannot be maintained.

If you feel you may be experiencing any of the recognised symptoms of Covid-19, please put on a face covering and speak to a member of staff in a well ventilated area. It is best to travel home if it is safe to do so

Regularly wash your hands, use hand sanitiser and avoid touching your face and dispose of any used tissues appropriately.

Familiarise yourself with your entry point and the location of amenities within the racecourse.

We are operating a cashless event. On-course bookmakers/pool betting operators may accept cash

Enjoy the vast amounts of space around the racecourse and avoid congregating in busy areas (for example, along the rail or by the Winning Post).

Make sure all walkways, corridors and doorways etc are clear before you walk through.

Follow all signage and the instructions of staff, officials or any emergency service personnel present at the racecourse.

Make sure other members of your group have read and understood these guidelines

Thank you so much for your continued support and co-operation

We hope you have a wonderful day with us

Welcome to Haydock Park on one of our feature days of the year, bet365 Lancashire Oaks Day.

I’m sure you all enjoyed Royal Ascot. How fantastic it was to see Insherin to win the Commonwealth Cup, following up his Sandy Lane Stakes victory here Several horses who have run at Haydock Park won and it is wonderful to see horses who run here win on the biggest stage

Today is a historic day of great significance for the racecourse. It really is remarkable that the roots of The Old Newton Cup relate back to 1807, with establishing on this site in 1903 from Newton It’s a fantastic race for Members to watch. Thirty years since my first Old Newton Cup at the tender age of seven, it remains one of my personal highlights at Haydock Park.

Winners of The Old Newton Cup rhyme off the tongue with aplomb: Rakaposhi King, Sir Henry Cecil’s only winner of the race in 1986, Glide Path , the last dual winner in 1993/4, trained by the much-missed John Hills and Collier Hill in 2003 who established more air miles than Judith Chalmers to mention just three. Today promises to be another fascinating contest in the glorious July sunshine and the winner will have their colours adorned on our 2025 badge.

The bet365 Lancashire Oaks is a fantastic race for fillies and mares Alpinista won the race three years ago and was a subsequent winner of the Arc at Longchamp. Today we see an assortment of exciting fillies and mares lining up over twelve furlongs for our apex female contest of the season.

We have so much to look forward to at Haydock Park in the latter throws of 2024, from the Rose of Lancaster Stakes to our pinnacle of flat racing: the Sprint Cup, rounding off with the Betfair Chase in November and our traditional festive fixtures.

An oasis in the shade is available to you all today in the shape of your viewing area, viewing boxes and designated bar.

I’d also like to welcome annual members from York Racecourse today, and we hope you have an enjoyable afternoon

I hope you have a wonderful and successful afternoon today and will hopefully see you all. We race again in 13 days

VETS SCREEN POLICY

We have agreed with our vets that the screen should be erected, whenever a horse requires veterinary treatment on the course. This does not reflect the severity of an injury, but does help to provide a calm environment, in which the vet is better able to treat the horse.

Please do not assume the worst if you see screens erected around a fallen horse.

YOU MUST BE 18 OR OVER TO PLACE A BET

You may be asked to provide proof ofyour age when placing a bet.

Ifyou cannot produce this your bet will not be accepted.

A competitive 3yo handicap, with PEDRO VALENTINO narrowly preferred to notch his second C&D win 4 weeks on from his first. Treasure Time has proved progressive this season and should pose a major threat having scored at Newmarket at fortnight ago, whilst recent Chester winner Love Billy Boy also makes plenty of appeal.
