Hello and welcome back to Haydock Park for day two of the Sprint Cup Celebration!
Yesterday we were treated to some great action on the track and we can’t wait to do it all over again this afternoon with a jam-packed card of seven races to look forward to.
The Betfair Sprint Cup, which takes place over six furlongs tomorrow afternoon, is a Group One race worth £400,000. Additionally, this year’s renewal looks like one of the most exciting we’ve ever had - so if you’re not already planning on coming along, make sure you do!
Today’s racing will get underway at 1.30pm with the Betfair Racing Only Better Podcast Handicap Stakes while the last runners will be off at 4.55pm.
I’d like to take this opportunity to welcome all of those who are enjoying the annual Racing Welfare Chairty Lunch in the Park Suite this afternoon Now in its nineteenth year, the event is enjoyed by over three hundred guests with all proceeds going to Racing Welfare, a registered charity which provides a full range of support and services to people working within the sport. Today’s headline partners Betfair are kindly sponsoring their races this afternoon in aid of the organisation, for which we are all very grateful Our thanks also go to Oakmere Homes and Arete Foundation for their support of races across today’s card
After three wonderful days of racing here, I’ll be making my way up to Newcastle on Sunday morning to take park in the Great North Run, also in support of Racing Welfare. The work they do really is incredible and so worthwhile, so please do consider donating if you can! You can find further details by visiting this webpage: greatnorthrun2023.enthuse.com/pf/molly-dingwall
As always, the whole team here at Haydock Park would like to thank you all for joining us today and we hope to see you again very soon
Warm wishes,
Molly Dingwall General Manager

CODE OF CONDUCT
As part of our joint commitment to each other and the communities in which we operate, all racegoers should be aware of the Code of Conduct and observe the following whilst at our Racecourse.
For the safety of other racegoers and racecourse staff, please consider wearing a face covering in busy indoor areas or outside where social distancing cannot be maintained.
If you feel you may be experiencing any of the recognised symptoms of Covid-19, please put on a face covering and speak to a member of staff in a well ventilated area. It is best to travel home if it is safe to do so
Regularly wash your hands, use hand sanitiser and avoid touching your face and dispose of any used tissues appropriately.
Familiarise yourself with your entry point and the location of amenities within the racecourse.
We are operating a cashless event. On-course bookmakers/pool betting operators may accept cash
Enjoy the vast amounts of space around the racecourse and avoid congregating in busy areas (for example, along the rail or by the Winning Post).
Make sure all walkways, corridors and doorways etc are clear before you walk through.
Follow all signage and the instructions of staff, officials or any emergency service personnel present at the racecourse.
Make sure other members of your group have read and understood these guidelines.
Thank you so much for your continued support and co-operation
We hope you have a wonderful day with us

GOLDEN MAVERICK wasn’t himself for whatever reason upped in trip at Ascot last time, but he’s well worth the chance to bounce back from that given his progress this season. Feud and Dubai Crystal head the opposition in a tightly-knit handicap

LADY PAGASA showed plenty of ability when runner-up on debut in a Newmarket novice (7f) 2 weeks ago, headed entering final 1f but well clear ofthe remainder Open to improvement, she’ll cope with the this drop in trip and she gets the nod to go one place better That said, Raqiya made little fuss of opening her account at Salisbury 4 weeks ago and rates a big threat, ahead of Dream Whisper StarJameela and Chaumet More are a couple of appealing newcomers to note

Look out for the charity Racing to School today; you shouldn’t miss them as they will be leading a group of local pupils and their teachers through every corner of the racecourse for an action-packed day of fun challenges and discovery. The charity works nationwide with over 250 schools, and this year will reach around 16,000 young people – at UK racecourses, trainers’yards and studs.
They deliver free, outdoor activity days to support the learning and to boost the self-confidence of children aged nine and above. Racing to School uses racing venues as unique, fast-moving classrooms full of opportunities to practise and improve subjects like maths, literacy and problem-solving.
The charity is only able to support young people’s education through the kind donations it receives. Please scan this QR code to donate, if you can.

VETS SCREEN POLICY
We have agreed with our vets that the screen should be erected, whenever a horse requires veterinary treatment on the course. This does not reflect the severity of an injury, but does help to provide a calm environment, in which the vet is better able to treat the horse.
Please do not assume the worst if you see screens erected around a fallen horse.

A novice event featuring some regally-bred newcomers, with slight preference for Godolphin’s DAZZLING JEWEL, whose dam won in Group 1 company as a juvenile. Bolsena is from a top family that the yard have had plenty of success with and she’s another with plenty to recommend on paper, whilst Simple Endeavour cost 800,000gns and is from the family of Barney Roy, so also looks a potentially-smart debutant.

IMPORTANT NOTICES
RACEHORSE & JOCKEY WELFARE
The welfare of the sport’s equine and human participants is paramount to British Horseracing. All racehorses competing in Britain are stabled at the premises of trainers who are licensed by The British Horseracing Authority The standards demanded by The BHA of licensed racehorse trainers far exceed those prescribed by animal welfare legislation The British Horseracing Authority similarly licenses every racecourse, setting high standards for the racing surface and all parts of the course used by competitors, both human and equine. BHA Officials ensure that racecourses delivers these standards In addition Haydock Park Racecourse employs a minimum of three veterinary surgeons, whose sole responsibility it is to provide care to the horses throughout their time at the racecourse In the event of an incident on the racecourse, any horse affected will receive immediate treatment from the racecourse’s veterinary team. Qualified paramedics and doctors are also on hand in the case of any incident involving a jockey If any incident occurs during a race it is routine practice for screens to be erected around the horse or jockey receiving treatment. This is to allow the veterinary or medical personnel to make a safe and accurate diagnosis and so that they may perform any treatment in a private and calm environment. If necessary, horses and riders will be transported from the course to receive further treatment at the nearest equine hospital or Accident & Emergency hospital
