Good evening and a very warm welcome back to Haydock Park for what is set to be one of the highlights of our summer season!

We can’t think of many better ways to spend a Friday night than with thrilling sporting action on the track followed by worldclass entertainment with the one and only Nile Rodgers & Chic. We are so glad that you could all join us

Racing this evening will get underway at 5.40pm with the Join Racing TV Now Handicap Stakes over 1m 2f, with things coming to a close at 8.35pm.

I’d like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who is supporting racing today, including Cheshire Life and Lancashire Life Magazines and oakflooringman.com. We wish both groups a wonderful evening here with us tonight As always our continued thanks go to Racing TV and The EBF for their ongoing support.

After their showstopping, sold-out headline concert at Aintree Racecourse last year, we are delighted to welcome Nile Rodgers & Chic back to the North West The ground-breaking hit-maker will be joined by his acclaimed band on stage from around 9pm for a night of funk, pop and all things disco – we can’t wait!

Tonight serves as the perfect warm-up for tomorrow’s action which features both the Betfred Rose of Lancaster Stakes and our social highlight of the season, Ladies Day. We’re delighted to be partnering with The Buyers’ Club Clothing and House of Cavani for the Style Awards and it’s not too late for you to get involved and in with the chance of winning some amazing prizes.

To find out more about tomorrow and everything else we have going on here at Haydock Park, head over to our website by scanning the QR code below.

For now, I wish you all an amazing evening here with us

Warm wishes,

DON’T FORGET OUR NEXT MEETING TOMORROW - SATURDAY 12TH AUGUST ROSE OF LANCASTER STAKES

PLAY SMARTER

HOT TEAM pulled clear with one at the top of his game (who has won again since) at Hamilton last Saturday and Patrick Morris’ 7-y-o is fancied to go one better provided he can cope with this quick turnaround. Unplugged arrives on the back of a couple of wins in similar events in recent months, so he looks the obvious danger, while 10-y-o Billy Roberts can fill out third spot.

VETS SCREEN POLICY

We have agreed with our vets that the screen should be erected, whenever a horse requires veterinary treatment on the course. This does not reflect the severity of an injury, but does help to provide a calm environment, in which the vet is better able to treat the horse.

Please do not assume the worst if you see screens erected around a fallen horse.

You must be 18 or over to place a bet

You may be asked to provide proof of your age when placing a bet

If you cannot produce this your bet will not be accepted

PLAY SMARTER

This has the makings of a strong contest but, based on pedigree/connections, it might be worth taking a chance that REMAADD has enough ability to make a successful start at the likely expense of Doncaster winner Alshinfarah. Grand Karat offered plenty of encouragement at Newbury first time out, so he’s another one likely to be involved.

The Dutch Art filly is likelyto raise her game another notch now moving back up in trip and pitched into a handicap off what could turn out to be a very fair mark. Jill Rose should give a good account but, as an exposed 7-y-o, she may struggle to keep tabs on the aforementioned, progressive 3-y-os.

IMPORTANT NOTICES

RACEHORSE & JOCKEY WELFARE

The welfare of the sport’s equine and human participants is paramount to British Horseracing. All racehorses competing in Britain are stabled at the premises of trainers who are licensed by The British Horseracing Authority The standards demanded by The BHA of licensed racehorse trainers far exceed those prescribed by animal welfare legislation The British Horseracing Authority similarly licenses every racecourse, setting high standards for the racing surface and all parts of the course used by competitors, both human and equine. BHA Officials ensure that racecourses delivers these standards In addition Haydock Park Racecourse employs a minimum of three veterinary surgeons, whose sole responsibility it is to provide care to the horses throughout their time at the racecourse In the event of an incident on the racecourse, any horse affected will receive immediate treatment from the racecourse’s veterinary team. Qualified paramedics and doctors are also on hand in the case of any incident involving a jockey If any incident occurs during a race it is routine practice for screens to be erected around the horse or jockey receiving treatment. This is to allow the veterinary or medical personnel to make a safe and accurate diagnosis and so that they may perform any treatment in a private and calm environment. If necessary, horses and riders will be transported from the course to receive further treatment at the nearest equine hospital or Accident & Emergency hospital
