MANYPUBSACROSSTHENORTHWEST.

Hello and a very warm welcome to Haydock Park for what is sure to be a great evening of racing and fun.

Tonight’s six-race card gets underway at 6.30pm and runs all the way through to 9pm, when the action will conclude with the Killington Lake Handicap Stakes. The first race of the night, The Steve Yarborough Memorial Handicap Stakes, is a special race which is now in its sixth year. I would like to take this opportunity to wish Steve’s family and friends a lovely day with us. Also here with us today at the racecourse are Jodie Murphs who is celebrating her hen do and Marcus Dunning who is celebrating his 60th birthday Everyone here at Haydock Park hopes that they have a great day with us – congratulations Jodie and many happy returns Marcus!
Over the coming weeks we have some fantastic fixtures to look forward to including The Rose of Lancaster Carnival on August 11th & 12th and The Sprint Cup Celebration in September. Both of these fixtures are two of our biggest weekends of the flat racing season, with the Rose of Lancaster Carnival featuring a performance from Nile Rodgers and Chic, plus our annual Style Awards on Ladies Day. Earlier this week we announced that Merseyside company The Buyers Club Clothing were our official partners for this year’s event, and we can’t wait to welcome them the racecourse
The Sprint Cup Celebration, which takes place over three days from September 7th, attracts some of the best flat racing horses in training to Haydock Park, and we can’t wait to see who win this year’s renewal.

As always, I’d like to thank you all for joining us today – we hope to see you again very soon!
Warm wishes,
Molly Dingwall General Manager

BILLY ROBERTS took a step back in the right direction at Pontefract last time and could be the answer if building on that having dropped to a good mark. Bushfire paid the price somewhat for quite a big move into contention at Chester last week and is second choice, while Jewel Maker can also have a say if returning to the pick of his form this season.

VETS SCREEN POLICY
We have agreed with our vets that the screen should be erected, whenever a horse requires veterinary treatment on the course. This does not reflect the severity of an injury, but does help to provide a calm environment, in which the vet is better able to treat the horse.

COPYARTISTnever figured in the Sandringham at Royal Ascot last month but Andrew Balding’s filly had previously been shaping up well in novice company and, returned to calmer waters, she’s fancied to bounce back. Romilda is an appealing newcomer for a powerful yard and she needs monitoring. Raimunda and Dreamrocker are others that can do battle for minor honours. TIMEFORM PREDICTION:

IMPORTANT NOTICES
RACEHORSE & JOCKEY WELFARE
The welfare of the sport’s equine and human participants is paramount to British Horseracing. All racehorses competing in Britain are stabled at the premises of trainers who are licensed by The British Horseracing Authority The standards demanded by The BHA of licensed racehorse trainers far exceed those prescribed by animal welfare legislation The British Horseracing Authority similarly licenses every racecourse, setting high standards for the racing surface and all parts of the course used by competitors, both human and equine. BHA Officials ensure that racecourses delivers these standards In addition Haydock Park Racecourse employs a minimum of three veterinary surgeons, whose sole responsibility it is to provide care to the horses throughout their time at the racecourse In the event of an incident on the racecourse, any horse affected will receive immediate treatment from the racecourse’s veterinary team. Qualified paramedics and doctors are also on hand in the case of any incident involving a jockey If any incident occurs during a race it is routine practice for screens to be erected around the horse or jockey receiving treatment. This is to allow the veterinary or medical personnel to make a safe and accurate diagnosis and so that they may perform any treatment in a private and calm environment. If necessary, horses and riders will be transported from the course to receive further treatment at the nearest equine hospital or Accident & Emergency hospital
