Good evening and welcome to Hamilton Park where we have an exciting evening of racing ahead of us with prize money of £55,000 on offer across the six-race card.
All races this evening are being run at no less than £1,500 above the new BHA minimum values and the whole fixture is being run at 33% above those same values. This is all part of our continued commitment to the quality of the racing we stage here at Hamilton Park, with investment across all classes of race as we offer record prize money of £1.74M for our centenary season.
Our thanks go to tonight’s sponsors and partners; The European Breeders Fund, Hayley Millar and Family, Racing TV, Indigo Unified Comms and our very own Hampton by Hilton Hamilton Park. I hope you and your guests have an enjoyable evening with us.
The on-track action this evening starts with the first Amateur Riders race of the season at Hamilton Park, with nine runners set to go to post at 6.30pm. The Gary Rutherford-trained Penny Mountain is at the top of the weights and will be ridden by Emma Brown, whilst Mister Blue Sky is the only course and distance winner in the field having claimed victory here for trainer Gemma Tutty back in May 2025.
The Indigo Unified Comms Handicap (Class 5) at 8.30pm looks to be an intriguing contest with three course and distance winners in the field. Amongst those are the three-time Hamilton Park winner Impressor who placed third here last Thursday, as well as course specialist Iris Dancer, who will once again be going for an all-time record of ten course victories to edge ahead of Jordan Electrics in the record books. I wish all of tonight’s runners, riders and connections the very best of luck.
Next week we see Royal Ascot take centre stage in the racing world, but we race ourselves here at Hamilton Park next Wednesday 17 June with our first race of a seven-race card due off at 2.15pm. Our attention then turns to our ever-popular Indigo Unified Comms Saints & Sinners Racenight which takes place on Thursday 25 June and will feature an amazing tribute to music from the 80’s and 90’s.
Once we get into July we have some of our most popular fixtures of the season including our Family Racenight ft Connor Fyfe & Just the Brave on Saturday 11 July, as well as our Jordan Electrics Glasgow Stakes Centenary Racenight ft Tide Lines on Friday 17 July, where we will stage two of our most prestigious races of the season in the Jordan Electrics Scottish Stewards Cup and the EBF Glasgow Listed Stakes. We will also be continuing our 100-year centenary celebrations at this fixture so it’s definitely a racenight not to be missed!
Tickets are available online for all of our fixtures with some great savings to be made when you buy in advance via our website www.hamilton-park.co.uk, with no booking fees applied to your ticket purchase
Have a great evening and be lucky!
Kind regards

Sir Ian Good Memorial Sculpture
Commissioned in 2026 to mark Hamilton Park’s 100th year of racing, this memorial sculpture honours the late Sir Ian Good in recognition of his outstanding contribution to Hamilton Park, Scottish Racing, and the racing industry as a whole.
Sir Ian served on the Board from 1990 and as Chairman from 1999 until his passing in 2023. Under his leadership, Hamilton Park developed into one of the UK’s leading independent racecourses, including the addition of the on-site Hampton by Hilton hotel in 2019. He also played a key role nationally as founding Chairman of Scottish Racing, and held senior positions with the Racing Foundation, the Tote, and the Jockey Club.
In collaboration with the Good family, the sculpture has been created by renowned sculptor Michael Turner who specialises in creating unique, handcrafted artwork using marine grade stainless steel. With the working title of ‘A Dynamic Force’, each individual panel of stainless steel has been shaped by hand to create a sculpture that embodies the energy and excitement of horse racing, showcasing the power and grace of the horse in motion alongside the unique harmony that exists between horse and jockey.
Located between the Hampton by Hilton Hotel and the Sir Ian Good Grandstand, this sculpture stands as a lasting tribute to his vision, leadership, and legacy
The design includes subtle tributes to Sir Ian’s life and legacy, so please do visit the sculpture to see them for yourself.

AMATEUR JOCKEYS’ HANDICAP STAKES (CLASS 6)
RACE DESCRIPTION
This is a six furlongs handicap race for four-year-olds and upwards which have been rated from 46 to 55. In a handicap the weight that each of the runners carries is determined by their official handicap rating which is based on their level of form shown so far. The aim is to ensure competitive racing by asking the higher rated horses to carry more weight than a lower rated rival. As a guide, horses rated 40 tend to be at the lower end of the scale whilst the very best performers would be rated as high as 130.

THE HAMILTON PARK EBF MAIDEN STAKES (CLASS 4)
(HAMILTON PARK 2YO SERIES QUALIFIER) (GBB RACE)
RACE DESCRIPTION
This race is a six furlongs maiden stakes for two-year-olds. Maiden races provide a starting point for young horses that are yet to record a victory and most will be very lightly-raced or be making their racecourse debuts. Previous experience can count for a lot when searching for the winner but well-bred or precocious juveniles are more than capable of landing the prize at the first time of asking.

THE ROBERT GRAHAM MILLAR MEMORIAL
MAIDEN STAKES (CLASS 3) (GBB/GBBPlus RACE)
RACE DESCRIPTION
This one mile, three furlongs and 15 yards contest for three-year-olds and upwards is another maiden stakes - a race for horses that have yet to record a racecourse victory. There are a variety of reasons why the older horses in this race could still be maidens. Stoutly bred horses are unlikely to be seen at their best over the shorter distances of their juvenile season whilst a setback or injury can curtail even the most precociously bred horse’s two-year-old career

RACE DESCRIPTION
This is a five furlongs handicap race for four-year-olds and upwards which have been rated from 51 to 70. To qualify for a handicap rating horses must have run at least three times in a Flat race in Britain, or have run in no more than two Flat races run in Britain and won at least one of them. This rating then dictates the weight to be carried in a handicap In simple terms a horse rated 70 in this particular race would be required to carry 5lb more than a rival rated 65.

RACE DESCRIPTION
This is a six furlongs handicap race for four-year-olds and upwards which have been rated from 51 to 70. Once a horse has qualified for a handicap rating this is regularly reassessed. A below-par effort could result in a reduced rating whilst a strong performance could see the rating increased. Occasionally, horses are entered to race before their handicap rating has been reviewed and so to avoid recent winners being un-penalised they are allotted a mandatory penalty – usually 6lb

THE HAMPTON BY HILTON HAMILTON PARK HANDICAP STAKES (CLASS 6)
RACE DESCRIPTION
This is a one mile and 68 yards handicap race for three-year-olds and upwards which have been rated from 46 to 65. Like most handicaps on the flat this race is also open to horses that are rated below that particular band. However, all handicaps stipulate a minimum weight and no runner can carry less than that, irrespective of how low their rating is. This is often described as ‘running from out of the handicap’ and is considered a disadvantage

The unexposed Hunterian and The Sweet Escape can do battle for minor honours. 1-2-3: 1.SPIRIT CATCHER (IRE) 2.MOTAWAARED 3.HUNTERIAN (IRE) STEWARDS NOTE: THE SWEET ESCAPE: Following its run on 31/5/2026 it was reported that the horse reared and was slowly away
