WEDNESDAY 4 SEPT 2024
A warm welcome to Hamilton Park for our final evening fixture of the season, where we have some excellent racing ahead of us.
Our thanks go to this evening’s sponsors including our new title sponsors Leisure Connect, the European Breeders Fund, Together Money, Greenversity, PMA Recruitment Services & We Contracts and our very own Hampton by Hilton Hamilton Park Hotel. I wish all our sponsors and their guests an enjoyable evening with us.
This evening’s feature race is the Leisure Connect WiFi Approved Suppliers 2-Year-Old Series Final at 5.45pm. This is a Class 2 contest over six furlongs with prize money of £20,000 on offer, making it the richest race staged in the UK & Ireland today Three of tonight’s horses have already won here in 2024, with Airspeed at the top of the weights for trainer Karl Burke and owners Clipper Logistics, who have a 100% strike rate here at Hamilton Park this season with three wins from three runners
Newmarket-based trainer Alice Haynes runs Ziggy’s Ariel under Rowan Scott and will be looking to follow up having won here back in July, whilst Charlie Johnston will be hoping to strike once more with Shazani who made all when picking up his maiden win here in June
As we near the end of our season, we would love you to tell us when you have received excellent customer service here at Hamilton Park over the past year Voting for the Racing Post Readers Award is now open and you could win a VIP raceday at a racecourse of your choice if you recount a great experience you have had. FIVE FURLONGS (5f abt 7yds) (1000m)
4.35pm
This five furlongs Novice Stakes is restricted to two-year-olds but in order to take part all of the runners must meet certain conditions. Unlike a maiden, which is restricted to horses yet to record a victory, winning horses which have run in a maximum of six races are eligible to run. Weights are set according to sex before previous winners are allocated penalties depending on the level at which they have been successful.
Leading course trainer (19-24): I Jardine (38 wins from 299 runners, 13%) runs UP THE CLARETS
Trainer-in-form (last 14 days): K R Burke (7 wins from 49 runners, 14%) runs INVINCIBLE ANNICE, LARCHILL LASS & MILFORD
Fancy That: K R Burke won this race in 2020 and 2022. The stable runs INVINCIBLE ANNICE, LARCHILL LASS & MILFORD today
Longest Traveller: LAURENS DREAM trained by M & D Easterby, Sheriff Hutton, 200 miles.
BETTING FORECAST: 7-4 Invincible Annice (IRE), 11-4 Larchill Lass (GB), 9-2 Milford (GB), 11-2 Up The Clarets (IRE), 14-1 Laurens Dream (GB)
RACE SUMMARY: INVINCIBLE ANNICE was a good second in a nursery at Ripon last week. She ran well on soft surface on her debut back in the spring and can prove too strong for stablemate Milford, who should appreciate the return to the minimum trip.
1-2-3: 1.INVINCIBLE ANNICE (IRE) 2.MILFORD 3.LARCHILL LASS STEWARDS NOTE: MILFORD: Following its run on 24/8/2024 it was reported that the horse hung left-handed. LARCHILL LASS: Following its run on 2/8/2024 it was reported that the horse hung right-handed throughout.

ONE MILE about 68 YARDS (8f abt 68yds) (1600m)
RACE DESCRIPTION
This is a one mile and 68 yards handicap race for three-year-olds and upwards which have been rated from 46 to 60. In a handicap the weight that each of the runners carries is determined by their official handicap rating which is based on their level of form shown so far. The aim is to ensure competitive racing by asking the higher rated horses to carry more weight than a lower rated rival. As a guide, horses rated 40 tend to be at the lower end of the scale whilst the very best performers would be rated as high as 130.
Leading course trainer (19-24): J Goldie (47 wins from 391 runners, 12%) runs ZUMAATY
Trainer-in-form (last 14 days): M Dods (4 wins from 36 runners, 11%) runs CARVALHAL
Weightwatcher: SUTUE ALSHAMS won off a handicap mark of 67, his rating is now down 7lb to 60.
Longest Traveller: RECORWOMAN trained by I Furtado, Wiseton, 245 miles.
BETTING FORECAST: 5-1 Rebecca’s Girl (IRE), 6-1 Crown’s Lady (IRE), 15-2 Makalu (IRE), Hostelry (GB), 11-1 Darbucks (IRE), 14-1 Black Friday (GB), 16-1 Sutue Alshams (IRE), 18-1 Zumaaty (IRE), 20-1 Recorwoman (FR), 22-1 Carvalhal (IRE), Millbuie (GB), 28-1 Likleman (GB), Strike Rate (IRE), 33-1 Paco’s Pride (GB)
RACE SUMMARY: CROWN’S LADY remains with relatively few miles on the clock so is taken to defy a 6lb penalty for her Southwell success, with this return to 1m also a positive for Craig Lidster’s filly Rebecca’s Girl can race off the same mark as when a good recent Musselburgh second and rates an obvious danger with Makalu, Carvalhal and Hostelry all in the picture too.

RACE DESCRIPTION
A nursery is a handicap that is restricted to two-year-olds only In order to be allowed to take part, entrants must have already run in three maiden or novice races, or have won two races, which then qualifies them for an official handicap rating based on what they have achieved so far. Quite simply, the higher their rating, the bigger the weight they have to carry. This particular race is set to be held over six furlongs.
Leading course trainer (19-24): K Ryan (27 wins from 134 runners, 20%) runs EAST TYRONE

This is a six furlongs handicap race for fillies and mares aged three-years-old and upwards which have been rated from 56 to 75. To qualify for a handicap rating horses must have run at least three times in a Flat race in Britain, or have run in no more than two Flat races run in Britain and won at least one of them. This rating then dictates the weight to be carried in a handicap In simple terms a horse rated 75 in this particular race would be required to carry 5lb more than a rival rated 70.
Leading course trainer (19-24): J Goldie (47 wins from 391 runners, 12%) runs ROCK MELODY
Trainer-in-form (last 14 days): T Easterby (5 wins from 75 runners, 7%) runs CANARIA QUEEN
Longest Travellers: LADY CELIA trained by A Brown, CANARIA QUEEN trained by T Easterby, both Malton, 203 miles.
BETTING FORECAST: 4-1 Mostar Dreams (IRE), 6-1 Rock Melody (IRE), 7-1 Slainte Mhath (GB), Iris Dancer (GB), 15-2 Lady Celia (GB), 8-1 Conservationist (GB), 11-1 Catherine Chroi (IRE), White Umbrella (GB), 22-1 Game Breaker (IRE), 40-1 Canaria Queen (GB)
RACE SUMMARY: ROCK MELODY found a big-field Class 2 too much for her at the recent York Ebor meeting but won quite cosily over C&D prior to that and can show she’s still on a good mark back in calmer waters. Last year’s winner Iris Dancer is next on the list ahead of Conservationist and Iain Jardine’s Mostar Dreams. 1-2-3: 1.ROCK MELODY (IRE)
NOTE: SLAINTE MHATH: Following its run on 13/8/2024 it was reported that the horse hung right-handed throughout.

ONE MILE about FIVE FURLONGS (13f abt 16yds) (2600m) 6.45pm
This is a one mile and five furlongs handicap race for three-year-olds and upwards which have been rated from 49 to 68. Once a horse has qualified for a handicap rating this is regularly reassessed. A below-par effort could result in a reduced rating whilst a strong performance could see the rating increased. Occasionally, horses are entered to race before their handicap rating has been reviewed and
to avoid recent winners being un-penalised they are allotted a mandatory penalty – usually 6lb

RACE DESCRIPTION
This is a one mile and three furlongs handicap race for four-year-olds and upwards which have been rated from 46 to 58.
