WELCOME
Good afternoon and a warm welcome to our National Federation of Roofing Contractors Raceday, our first midweek fixture of the season. We have an exciting afternoon of racing ahead of us with prize money of over £51,000 on offer across the six-race card, with all races being run at no less than £2,000 above BHA minimum values and the whole fixture being run at 34% above those same values. This is all part of our continued commitment to prize money and the quality of the racing we stage here at Hamilton Park, with investment across all classes of race.
A big thank you goes to all of today’s sponsors including the National Federation of Roofing Contractors, who are one of our newest title partners We are also delighted to be welcoming HLS McConnell, Fixing Point, Bauder, ICB, Velux and Permavent, as well as the European Breeders Fund, all of whom are supporting a race on today’s card. I wish all of today’s sponsors and their guests a fabulous afternoon of quality racing and hospitality
Eight runners go to post in today’s feature race at 4.20pm, the ICB Waterproofing Windows Handicap which is a Class 4 handicap over six furlongs, with some familiar names set to feature. Trainer Katie Scott runs Slainte Mhath who is a three-time Hamilton Park winner over the past two seasons, whilst Iain Jardine will be hoping Catherine Chroi will continue her recent run of form that has seen her victorious in five of her seven runs this year However course specialist Iris Dancer is also declared to run for trainer Tristan Davidson and Owner’s the Auld Pals, who I’m sure will be hoping to add to her incredible record of six wins here including her most recent outing on 17 May
Looking ahead, June is always a very busy month for us with our fixtures coming in quick succession. Next up we have our Sky Bet Sunday Series fixture this Sunday afternoon which will become the richest fixture ever staged at Hamilton Park with £225,000 in prize money up for grabs. We are expecting an incredible afternoon of top-quality action all of which will be broadcast live on ITV Racing, so if you can’t join us then do tune in and have a flutter from the comfort of your own home.
Our Sodexo Live! Raceday takes place on Thursday 6 June, followed by two more fixtures before our ever-popular Saints & Sinners Racenight takes centre stage on the evening of 27 June Once we get into July and August we have some of our biggest fixtures of the season, including our Cube Glass Ladies Night on Saturday 3 August featuring a live performance from Aston Merrygold as well as a special guest appearance and performance from Drag Race star Baga Chipz and a DJ set from Mark Wright. It really is shaping up to be the most glamorous event of the summer, and with our Early Bird ticket price ending on Friday there is no better time to secure your tickets at a discounted price Tickets are available online for all of our fixtures with some great savings to be made when you buy in advance via our website www.hamilton-park.co.uk
Have a great afternoon and I hope you find a few winners!
Kind regards,
ASHLEY MOON, RACECOURSE MANAGING DIRECTOR

RACE DESCRIPTION
This race is a five furlongs maiden stakes for two-year-olds. Maiden races provide a starting point for young horses that are yet to record a victory and most will be very lightly-raced or be making their racecourse debuts.
Previous experience can count for a lot when searching for the winner but well-bred or precocious juveniles are more than capable of landing the prize at the first time of asking.

(CLASS 5)
RACE DESCRIPTION
This is a one mile and five furlongs handicap race for fouryear-olds and upwards which have been rated from 56 to 75. In a handicap the weight that each of the runners carries is determined by their official handicap rating which is based on their level of form shown so far. The aim is to ensure competitive racing by asking the higher rated horses to carry more weight than a lower rated rival. As a guide, horses rated 40 tend to be at the lower end of the scale whilst the very best performers would be rated as high as 130.

RACE DESCRIPTION
(CLASS 4)
This is a one mile and four furlongs handicap race for threeyear-olds only which have been rated from 61 to 80. To qualify for a handicap rating horses must have run at least three times in a Flat race in Britain, or have run in no more than two Flat races run in Britain and won at least one of them. This rating then dictates the weight to be carried in a handicap In simple terms a horse rated 75 in this particular race would be required to carry 5lb more than a rival rated 70.

THE ICB WATERPROOFING HANDICAP STAKES (CLASS 4)
RACE DESCRIPTION
This is a six furlongs handicap race for four-year-olds and upwards which have been rated from 59 to 78. Once a horse has qualified for a handicap rating this is regularly reassessed. A below-par effort could result in a reduced rating whilst a strong performance could see the rating increased. Occasionally, horses are entered to race before their handicap rating has been reviewed and so to avoid recent winners being un-penalised they are allotted a mandatory penalty – usually 6lb.
RACE STATISTICS

Weightwatcher: RAMON DI LORIA won off a handicap mark of 73, his rating is now down 10lb to 63.

RACE SUMMARY: CATHERINE CHROI continues to thrive and looks weighted to strike once more under her rider (2-2 on her). Iris Dancer boasts a tremendous record here and can go well again. Slainte Mhath is another to consider in a trappy contest.

RACE DESCRIPTION
This is a one mile handicap race for four-year-olds and upwards which have been rated from 51 to 70. Like most handicaps on the flat this race is also open to horses that are rated below that particular band. However, all handicaps stipulate a minimum weight and no runner can carry less than that, irrespective of how low their rating is. This is often described as ‘running from out of the handicap’ and is considered a disadvantage

RACE DESCRIPTION
