A warm welcome to our Boë Ladies’ Night, with a fantastic line up of entertainment on and off the track with the one and only Peter Andre, TV star Chris Hughes plus Capital Scotland’s Katy J and Fat Brestovci all here to enjoy the party.
It’s our biggest night of the season and tonight we have a full card of exciting racing with six races to thrill you. A big thank you to House of Boë for partnering with us once again this evening having been the title sponsor of this fixture since 2019 – their award-winning range of gins and vodkas are incredibly popular, as are their fantastic range of pre-mixed cocktails and spritzers, all of which are available around the racecourse Make your way to the stylish Boë Bar to try one of their delicious offerings including a free sample of their new raspberry and white chocolate liqueur We also have the ever-popular Moët & Chandon Champagne Bar where you can enjoy a glass of fizz or two, plus we are delighted to be showcasing their new Chandon Garden Spritz with a free sample available to whet your appetite!. Both bars are situated around the main catwalk stage and offer prime viewing of this evenings’ off-track entertainment.
I’d also like to thank our other race sponsors Jordan Electrics, PS Auto Grinding, PDM Buildbase, Gas Call and MacGregor Flooring. Your support of our race programme is very much appreciated and I hope you and your guests all have a wonderful night. My thanks also go to the incredible team here at Hamilton Park who have worked tirelessly to create tonight’s event for you all to enjoy.
Tonight’s feature race, the new Class 2 Boë Soba Handicap Stakes worth £30,000 at 7.30pm, has a competitive field for what is sure to be a fast and furious contest over our shortest race distance of five furlongs. There are four course and distance winners amongst the seven runners with Roger Varian’s Tajalla and Tim Easterby’s Count D’orsay claiming wins here already this season. Newmarket trainer George Boughey has an excellent record here at Hamilton having taken five wins from his nine previous runners. He enters Proverb who is at the top of the weights and was last seen at Hamilton in September last year taking his maiden victory and has been campaigning in France having won a Listed contest at Longchamp last October
Throughout the evening we have an exciting line up of fashion shows and competitions with some incredible prizes up for grabs. Our Cosmedicare Best Dressed Lady competition gets underway at 5pm so be sure to register to enter at the Moët Bar from 4.30pm. Cosmedicare are also sponsoring our fabulous flower wall next to the Information Kiosk, so do head along and get your pictures taken and of course share them on social media using #Hamiltonraces. It’s not all about the ladies though as our secret spotters will be in the crowd to find our Slater Menswear Man of Style 2023. Join us at the Catwalk Stage at 6.45pm to find out which dapper gent will be walking away with tonight’s wonderful list of prizes! TV star and racing enthusiast Chris Hughes is with us tonight as special guest judge of our fashion competitions, and he will also be appearing in the Winners’ Enclosure to share his passion for racing.
Global media star Peter Andre will get the entertainment underway in style when he takes to the stage at 3.45pm for what is sure to be a great live performance, and then after racing Capital FM DJ Katy J will be spinning the decks for the after party, so make sure you stay with us to dance the night away until 11pm.
Have an incredible night and be lucky!

This is a one mile and one furlong handicap race for threeyear-olds and upwards which have been rated from 46 to 55. In a handicap the weight that each of the runners carries is determined by their official handicap rating which is based on their level of form shown so far. The aim is to ensure competitive racing by asking the higher rated horses to carry more weight than a lower rated rival. As a guide, horses rated 40 tend to be at the lower end of the scale whilst the very best performers would be rated as high as 130.

This is a one mile handicap race for three-year-olds and upwards which have been rated from 56 to 75. To qualify for a handicap rating horses must have run at least three times in a Flat race in Britain, or have run in no more than two Flat races run in Britain and won at least one of them. This rating then dictates the weight to be carried in a handicap
In simple terms a horse rated 75 in this particular race would be required to carry 5lb more than a rival rated 70.

This is a six furlongs handicap race for three-year-olds and upwards which have been rated from 61 to 80. Once a horse has qualified for a handicap rating this is regularly reassessed. A below-par effort could result in a reduced rating whilst a strong performance could see the rating increased. Occasionally, horses are entered to race before their handicap rating has been reviewed and so to avoid recent winners being un-penalised they are allotted a mandatory penalty – usually 6lb

This is a five furlongs handicap race for three-year-olds and upwards which have been rated from 86 to 105. Like most handicaps on the flat this race is also open to horses that are rated below that particular band. However, all handicaps stipulate a minimum weight and no runner can carry less than that, irrespective of how low their rating is. This is often described as ‘running from out of the handicap’ and is considered a disadvantage

This is a one mile and five furlongs handicap race for threeyear-olds and upwards which have been rated from 66 to 75. To qualify for a handicap rating horses must have run at least three times in a Flat race in Britain, or have run in no more than two Flat races run in Britain and won at least one of them. This rating then dictates the weight to be carried in a handicap In simple terms a horse rated 85 in this particular race would be required to carry 5lb more than a rival rated 80.

This is a one mile and three furlongs handicap race for three-year-olds and upwards which have been rated from 46 to 60.
