RACE CONDITIONS

Good evening and welcome to Hamilton Park for our Jordan Electrics Family Racenight featuring Callum Beattie. Family-themed racedays play a big part in our fixture list as we welcome future generations of racegoers with the combination of excellent racing and free family activities, with the addition of live music for this fixture.

We are now halfway through the 2023 season and I would like to thank all Owners, Trainers and Stable Staff who have supported our fixtures so far this year as well as the whole team here at Hamilton Park who help deliver our events. It’s particularly pleasing to hear that the improvements we’ve made to our catering and facilities for visiting Owners has been so well received alongside our record commitment to prize money across the whole programme We are striving to deliver the best possible experience for everyone who visits Hamilton Park.

A huge thank you to Brian Jordan and the team at Jordan Electrics who are our title sponsors this evening and a key partner here at the Hamilton Park resort, along with tonight’s other sponsors, the European Breeder’s Fund, JFM Electrical and Stephen McCluskey from Summerstorm Bloodstock –I do hope you and all your guests enjoy your evening with us. We continue to invest every pound given in sponsorship straight into our prize money fund which has helped us commit to a record level this year of £1.64M.

Our feature race at 7pm sees a competitive field of nine runners set to go to post with some familiar course and distance winners going head-to-head. Pisanello, owned by the Trendy Ladies, was last seen at Hamilton Park in May where he won at our Sky Bet Sunday Series fixture, whilst Shalador picked up two wins here last summer Jim Goldie has two runners in the race including Alpine Sierra who won here in May 2022 and B Associates who has picked up four wins and two second places from his seven runs this year including wins at Ayr, Carlisle and Musselburgh.

In addition to our usual array of free children’s entertainment around the grounds, tonight sees the return of our Rocca Ristorante Kid’s Fancy Dress competition, with £250 up for grabs for the winner The competition is open to under 18’s, who should make their way to the stage on the main lawn to register ahead of the first round of judging at 5pm. Our judges will select the final three who will be invited to the Winner’s Enclosure after the 4th race (7.30pm) for the prize giving. Previous winners include ‘BetFrey’ who came as a bookmakers pitch, ‘The cast of Still Game’ and ‘Animal’ from the Muppet Show. The standard of costume is always so high and so I’m sure the competition will be hotly contested.

After racing we’ll be turning our attention to the stage for some fabulous live music from one of Scottish music’s hottest properties as singer-songwriter Callum Beattie performs his latest album ‘Vandals’, along with some of his earlier songs such as ‘Salamander Street’ and his breakthrough hit ‘We Are Stars’. It’s set to be a fantastic show so make sure you stay on and get rocking at the racecourse!

Have a wonderful evening and I hope you pick a winner or two!

Kind regards,

ASHLEY MOON, RACECOURSE MANAGING DIRECTOR
