A very warm welcome to Indigo Unified Comms Saints & Sinners Racenight, one of the most famous nights in the Scottish racing calendar. It’s always one of our favourite meetings of the season with a great card of racing, fundraising for some extremely worthwhile causes as well as some fantastic entertainment after racing from our partners at Go Radio
Our thanks go to all of tonight’s sponsors – Change Mental Health, Stein Electrical and Mechanical Solutions, The European Breeders Fund, Funding Neuro, PDM Buildbase, Patersons of Greenoakhill, Wellman Cars, McEwan Grant Construction & Retail Joinery Contractors, and of course our title sponsors Indigo Unified Comms. I hope you and your guests have a most enjoyable evening racing with us.
This evening’s racing gets underway with the Change Mental Health Saints & Sinners Amateur Jockeys’ Handicap for the Saints & Sinners Challenge Cup which is a beautiful piece of silverware. We have an intriguing field for this years’ race including the Tim Easterby-trained Sameem who was last seen at Hamilton Park winning the Glasgow Stakes Listed race in 2019. A more recent course and distance winner is Bouncing Bobby who picked up a win here for trainer Martin Todhunter earlier this month.
Our feature race, the Class 3 Patersons of Greenoakhill Handicap at 8.00pm, has a competitive field and should prove a highlight of the evening. Top of the weights is Live In The Moment for trainer Alice Haynes, with Apprentice Jockey Sean Kirrane taking the ride having piloted a winner at Haydock on Saturday Adrian Nicholls and his daughter Mia will also be hoping to challenge for the win with Abate who scored over course and distance on 31 May, however this is step up in class from that race and should prove a good test
As we all know, tonight is not all about the racing. The Saints & Sinners Club of Scotland work throughout the year to raise funds for small, people-based Scottish charities. Their fundraising takes an enormous amount of work and we at Hamilton Park are proud to make our contribution to their efforts this evening and bring their much-needed work to the fore. In addition to a donation made from every ticket purchased for this evening, funds raised from the sale of red and white carnations will go to the charity
Details of other ways of supporting Saints & Sinners are featured in tonight’s racecard including a fantastic Silent Auction with some incredible prizes up for grabs, as well as our annual Sign-a-Note raffle. Entering couldn’t be easier – simply place £10 in one of the envelopes available around the course and pass it to one of the team.
Do make sure you stay on after racing tonight where we’ll see Go Radio Breakfast Show presenters Crofty and Grado go head-to-head in a battle of the DJ’s, before Zoe Kelly takes to the decks for a set full of dance and club anthems to close out the evening.
Have a fantastic night, get involved and please help us raise as much as we can for the charity Saints & Sinners.
Kind regards,
ASHLEY MOON, RACECOURSE MANAGING DIRECTORTOP COURSE TRAINERS

Good evening and welcome to the annual Saints & Sinners Club of Scotland race meeting. After all the difficulties of the past few years, it fantastic to be back here again at Hamilton Park and able to enjoy the evening’s racing with a proper crowd once again.
The Club raises funds to distribute annually to small Scottish charities and the yearly grant from the Club is the difference that enable many to carry on their work. The past few years have been hard for the club with the loss of so many of our fundraising events, but our reserves have enabled us to continue to support well over 120 charities, with over £130,000 issued in grants. Being back here tonight and your contribution to our fundraising will be a massive help to maintain that level of giving, even in these challenging times.
I’d also like to thank Ashley, Katie and all the team here at Hamilton for their support over the past few years. I hope you have a great night, back a few winners and on behalf of the whole Club, I’d like to thank you too for coming this evening and supporting our efforts; it is much appreciated.

This is a one mile and five furlongs handicap race for fouryear-olds and upwards which have been rated from 46 to 65. In a handicap the weight that each of the runners carries is determined by their official handicap rating which is based on their level of form shown so far. The aim is to ensure competitive racing by asking the higher rated horses to carry more weight than a lower rated rival. As a guide, horses rated 40 tend to be at the lower end of the scale whilst the very best performers would be rated as high as 130.
Leading course trainer (17-22): J Goldie (35 wins from 308 runners, 11%) runs AIGHEAR, TAFSIR and TWO AULD PALS
Trainer-in-form (last 14 days): A Watson (9 wins from 58 runners, 16%) runs SIR JOSEPH SWAN
Weightwatcher: GREAT COLACI won off a handicap mark of 64, his rating is now down 7lb to 57.
Longest Traveller: SIR JOSEPH SWAN trained by A Watson, Upper Lambourn, 367 miles.

THESTEINELECTRICAL&MECHANICALSOLUTIONSEBFRESTRICTEDMAIDENFILLIES’STAKES (CLASS4)(FORHORSESINBANDSB,CANDD)(EBFRESTRICTEDRACEQUALIFIER)(GBBRACE)
This race is a five furlongs maiden stakes for two-year-olds. Maiden races provide a starting point for young horses that are yet to record a victory and most will be very lightly-raced or be making their racecourse debuts. Previous experience can count for a lot when searching for the winner but well-bred or precocious juveniles are more than capable of landing the prize at the first time of asking.

about FIVE FURLONGS (5f abt 7yds) (1000m)
Selling Stakes exist as an outlet for connections to sell their horses. Any horse that wins a seller, such as this five furlongs contest for three-year-olds and upwards, is automatically put up for public auction in the Winners’ Enclosure at the end of the race and goes to the highest bidder, so make sure to head that way after the race as the auction is usually well worth seeing. This race is open to horses that have an official rating between 46-62.

This is a one mile and one furlong contest for three-years-old and upwards is another maiden stakes - a race for horses that have yet to record a racecourse victory. There are a variety of reasons why the older horses in this race could still be maidens. Stoutly bred horses are unlikely to be seen at their best over the shorter distances of their juvenile season whilst a setback or injury can curtail even the most precociously bred horse’s two-year-old career
Leading course trainer (17-22): R Fahey (37 wins from 225 runners, 16%) runs BOSC GIRL
Trainer-in-form (last 14 days): W Haggas (11 wins from 49 runners, 22%) runs GODWINSON

This is a five furlongs handicap race for three-year-olds and upwards which have been rated from 71 to 90. Once a horse has qualified for a handicap rating this is regularly reassessed. A below-par effort could result in a reduced rating whilst a strong performance could see the rating increased. Occasionally, horses are entered to race before their handicap rating has been reviewed and so to avoid recent winners being un-penalised they are allotted a mandatory penalty – usually 6lb

This is a one mile and three furlongs handicap race for threeyear-olds and upwards which have been rated from 53 to 72. Like most handicaps on the Flat, this race is also open to horses that are rated below that particular band. However, all handicaps stipulate a minimum weight and no runner can carry less than that, irrespective of how low their rating is. This is often described as ‘running from out of the handicap’ and is considered a disadvantage
