Race Description

This race is a seven furlongs classified stakes for three-year-olds and upwards which have been rated from 0 to 50. Unlike in a handicap when a horses rating reflects the weight that they will carry, the weights in this type of race are decided solely on the basis of age or sex. This means that the higher rated horses should, theoretically, hold an advantage, as they are not forced to concede weight to a lower rated rival.

RACE SUMMARY: OUR DICKIE disappointed at Redcar last time but he’s the one to beat if able reproduce the form of his win at this track the time before Retirement Beckons is a multiple winner here over the years and arrives on the back of victory at Ayr last week, so is the obvious threat. Royal Countess is best of the others.
