WELCOME

Good afternoon and welcome to our Sodexo Live! Raceday, our first of four fixtures in June. We have a competitive afternoon of racing ahead of us with prize money of over £80,000 on offer across the card, with all races being run at no less than £2,000 above BHA minimum values. The continued good weather represents a challenge to our grounds team who have been watering the track daily to maintain optimal conditions for racing. My thanks go to the whole team for their efforts to keep not only the track but also the grounds looking at their absolute best today.

My thanks also go to all of today’s sponsors and partners; MacRoberts LLP, Gartcraig Inn and the European Breeders Fund, as well as Lookers Audi who have some of their latest models on display at the front of the grandstand. Another of today’s sponsors is our very own on-site Hampton by Hilton Hamilton Park Hotel. The hotel bar is open and accessible to all racegoers during and after our racedays, so please do pay them a visit if you’d like a drink or two throughout the day.

Our catering partner, Sodexo Live! are also our headline sponsor today and the team responsible for the culinary delights you will all be eating in hospitality and around the racecourse Over the years we have worked together we have seen some excellent creations from our kitchens, which I hope you will all enjoy today Stuart, Pam and the team are an integral part of everything we offer here at Hamilton Park, not only on our racedays but also for the wide range of events that we host outwith our fixtures. So if you’re looking for the perfect wedding venue, Christmas party, location for a team building day or any other event then please do get in touch.

Today’s feature race is the Sodexo Live at Hamilton Park Clyde Handicap which is a Class 2 sprint contest over six furlongs worth £30,000 in prize money. Acklam Express is at the top of the weights for trainer Nigel Tinkler who will no doubt be hoping for a return to the form that saw him take his first win here as a two-year-old back in 2020. Jump The Gun for Iain Jardine and the Jim Goldie trained Call Me Ginger are both former course and distance winners whilst Newmarket based trainer William Haggas runs the Shadwell Estate-owned Khanjar Former champion jockey Jim Crowley is booked for the ride so I’m sure he’ll be keen to challenge for the win.

June is a very busy month for us with our fixtures coming thick and fast Next up we have our Lookers Audi Racenight taking place next Wednesday evening, followed by our Bothwell Castle Raceday on Wednesday 21 June Our attention then turns to our ever-popular Saints & Sinners Racenight on the evening of 29 June where we’ll once again be raising much needed funds to support the charitable activity undertaken by the Saints & Sinners Club of Scotland. Once we get into July we have some of our most popular fixtures of the season including our Jordan Electrics Family Racenight featuring Callum Beattie on Saturday 15 July. That’s quickly followed by G4 Claims Glasgow Stakes Racenight on Friday 21 July, where we will run two of our most prestigious races of the season in the G4 Claims Scottish Stewards Cup and the EBF Glasgow Listed Stakes. Tickets are available online for all of our fixtures with some great savings to be made when you buy in advance via our website www.hamilton-park.co.uk

Have a fantastic afternoon and I hope you back a winner or two!

Kind regards,

ASHLEY MOON, RACECOURSE MANAGING DIRECTOR
