WELCOME Good afternoon and welcome to our Racing TV Raceday, the first of two fantastic days racing here at Hamilton Park, followed tomorrow by our G4 Claims Glasgow Stakes Racenight, where over £132,000 of prize money will be up for grabs. Our thanks to the European Breeders Fund and Racing TV for their much-appreciated sponsorship of today’s races. We are proud to say that every pound given in sponsorship goes straight to our prize money, which has helped us offer record prize money of £1.6M this year. Today is Racing TV’s annual Club Day here at Hamilton Park where we invite local subscribers as well as Pubs and Clubs to come along and enjoy a day’s racing. Racing TV is our dedicated racing channel and is available online and on Sky channel 426. It’s owned by the racecourses, and they play a big part in helping us deliver each and every event to screens across the UK and beyond, and most importantly returning profits back into racing for the good of the sport. If you’ve not tried it yet, then why not download their free mobile app for a taste of their service featuring all of today’s races with tips from Timeform. On the track today we have some competitive racing with the 2.50pm feature race, the Class 4 Racing TV Club Members Handicap, looking like an intriguing contest. Previous course winners Alpine Sierra and Havana Party will hope to feature but Solar Joe, trained by Richard Fahey and ridden by Oisin Orr, are likely to be prominent in the betting. Elsewhere on the card we see two runners owned by Summerstorm Bloodstock Ltd, both trained by Jim Goldie – Graces Quest runs in the 3.20pm whilst Tafsir goes in the 3.50pm. Summerstorm’s horses have been performing well here at Hamilton with Cosa Sara and Lochnaver both notching up wins on recent visits. Graces Quest is a two-time winner already this year having won at Musselburgh in May and Carlisle in June, so Jim and his team will be hoping to add Hamilton Park to that list. It’s back-to-back racing for us here with tomorrow’s G4 Claims Glasgow Stakes Racenight where, as well as the fantastic racing action, we have The Rock of Ages Experience performing an amazing tribute to the music of the smash-hit Hollywood musical and film, with some of the greatest rock classics of the eighties. From Bon Jovi and Guns N Roses to Journey and Whitesnake – the six-piece band are set to rock the racecourse to its very foundations once the on-track action has finished. If you’d like to come along and join us tomorrow, simply bring along your ticket from today and we’ll give you admission for only £15. Gates open at 4pm with the first race at 5.47pm, so I do hope to see some of you back with us again. Have a great day today and I hope you back a winner or two! Kind Regards ASHLEY MOON, RACECOURSE MANAGING DIRECTOR

1.50pm THE BRITISH STALLIONS STUDS EBF NURSERY HANDICAP STAKES (CLASS 4) (A HAMILTON PARK 2-Y-O SERIES QUALIFIER) RACE DESCRIPTION
A nursery is a handicap that is restricted to two-year-olds only. In order to be allowed to take part, entrants must have already run in three maiden or novice races, or have won two races, which then qualifies them for an official handicap rating based on what they have achieved so far. Quite simply, the higher their rating, the bigger the weight they have to carry. This particular five furlongs race is for horses which have been rated from 0 to 80.

THE EVERY RACE LIVE ON RACING TV HANDICAP STAKES (CLASS 6) RACE DESCRIPTION
This is a six furlongs handicap race for four-year-olds and upwards which have been rated from 46 to 55. In a handicap the weight that each of the runners carries is determined by their official handicap rating which is based on their level of form shown so far. The aim is to ensure competitive racing by asking the higher rated horses to carry more weight than a lower rated rival. As a guide, horses rated 40 tend to be at the lower end of the scale whilst the very best performers would be rated as high as 130.

ONE MILE, ONE FURLONG about 35 YARDS (9f abt 35yds) (1800m)
Third Race
2.50pm THE WELCOME TO RACINGTV CLUB MEMBERS HANDICAP STAKES (CLASS 4) RACE DESCRIPTION
This is a one mile and one furlongs handicap race for fouryear-olds and upwards which have been rated from 66 to 85. Once a horse has qualified for a handicap rating this is regularly reassessed. A below-par effort could result in a reduced rating whilst a strong performance could see the rating increased. Occasionally, horses are entered to race before their handicap rating has been reviewed and so to avoid recent winners being un-penalised they are allotted a mandatory penalty – usually 6lb.

Both Pisanello and Alpine Sierra arrive in good order and can chase home Roger Fell’s 5-y-o in that order, although the lightly raced Solar Joe can also have a say if backing up his Pontefract victory. 1-2-3: 1.JEAN BAPTISTE (IRE) 2.PISANELLO (IRE) 3.ALPINE SIERRA (IRE)

Fourth Race
3.20pm
THE FOLLOW @RACINGTV ON TWITTER HANDICAP STAKES (CLASS 6) RACE DESCRIPTION
This is a one mile and three furlongs handicap race for fouryear-olds and upwards which have been rated from 46 to 65. Like most handicaps on the flat this race is also open to horses that are rated below that particular band. However, all handicaps stipulate a minimum weight and no runner can carry less than that, irrespective of how low their rating is. This is often described as ‘running from out of the handicap’ and is considered a disadvantage

Fifth Race
3.50pm THE RACING TV HD ON SKY 426 RESTRICTED NOVICE STAKES (CLASS 5) (FOR HORSES IN BANDS C AND D) (GBB RACE) RACE DESCRIPTION
This contest is a Novice Stakes, this time run over a distance of one mile. There are a variety of reasons why the threeyear-olds in this race are still light on experience. Stoutly bred horses are unlikely to be seen at their best over the shorter distances of their juvenile season whilst a setback or injury can curtail even the most precociously bred horse’s two-year-old career.

Sixth Race
4.20pm THE RACING TV PROFITS RETURNED TO RACING HANDICAP STAKES (CLASS 6) RACE DESCRIPTION
This is a six furlongs handicap race for three-year-olds only which have been rated from 46 to 65.

THE RACINGTV CLASSIFIED STAKES (CLASS 6) RACE DESCRIPTION
This race is a five furlongs classified stakes for four-year-olds and upwards which have been rated from 0 to 50. Unlike in a handicap when a horses rating reflects the weight that they will carry, the weights in this type of race are decided solely on the basis of age or sex. This means that the higher rated horses should, theoretically, hold an advantage, as they are not forced to concede weight to lower rated rival.
