Welcome

A very warm welcome to Hamilton Park for our Jordan Electrics Family Racenight. Family-themed racedays play a key part in our fixture list, as we look to engage with the future generations of racegoers with the combination of excellent racing and fantastic family activities. We are now halfway through the 2022 season, and I would like to thank all Owners and Trainers who have supported our fixtures so far this year, in what are incredibly challenging times for us all. It’s particularly pleasing to hear that our record commitment to prize money across the whole programme has been so well received, alongside our enhanced offering to visiting Owners. A big thank you to Brian Jordan and the team at Jordan Electrics who are our title sponsors this evening, along with tonight’s other sponsors, the European Breeder’s Fund, JFM Electrical, Aspire Cleaning Services & Facilities, Stephen McLaughlin, and Stephen McCluskey from Summerstorm Bloodstock – I do hope you and your guests enjoy your evening with us. We are proud to say that every pound given in sponsorship goes straight to our prize money which has helped us commit to a record level this year of £1.6M. Ourfeature racetonight sees a competitivefield ofseven runners, includingthe aptly-named Bringitonboris, trained by Keith Dalgleish and ridden by Sam James. Charlie and Mark Johnston will be hoping that Dutch Decoy will return to the form that saw him win at NewcastleandLingfieldearlierthisyear,aswellasover6fherebackin2019.Newmarket-based trainer Ed Dunlop has also targeted this race with Muhtashim who has won twice from five runs this year. Dunlop also trained the famous Red Cadeaux, who won the 2011 Braveheart Listed Stakes before going on to achieve success at the highest level around the globe. Our own Red’s Wine Bar is named in honour of this wonderful horse, so do pop in to see some fantastic memorabilia from his incredible career. In addition to our usual array of free children’s entertainment around the grounds, tonight sees the return of our Kid’s Fancy Dress competition with £250 up for grabs for the winner. The competition is open to under 18’s, who should make their way to the stage on the Paddock Lawn at 5pm for the first round of judging. Our judges will select the final three who will be invited to the Winner’s Enclosure afterthe 4th race (7.30pm) forthe prize giving. Previous winners include ‘The cast of Still Game’ and ‘Animal’ from the Muppet Show which has set a very high standard, and so I’m sure the competition will be hotly contested.
