THE CONTRAFLOW TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT LTD NURSERY HANDICAP STAKES (CLASS 5)

RACE DESCRIPTION

A nursery is a handicap that is restricted to two-year-olds only. In order to be allowed to take part, entrants must have already run in three maiden or novice races, or have won two races, which then qualifies them for an official handicap rating based on what they have achieved so far. Quite simply, the higher their rating, the bigger the weight they have to carry. This particular six furlongs race is for horses which have been rated from 0 to 75.

RACE STATISTICS

Leading course trainer (16-21): K Dalgleish (59 wins from 440 runners, 13%) runs BIG BOY HARLEY Trainer-in-form (last 14 days): M Johnston (9 wins from 97 runners, 9%) runs SUBJECTIVE VALUE Longest Traveller: FORM OF PRAISE trained by R Fahey, Malton, 203 miles. BETTING FORECAST: 7-4 Kentucky Rose (GB), 9-2 Subjective Value (GB), 5-1 Big Boy Harley (IRE), Isladaay (IRE), 11-2 Form of Praise (IRE) RACE SUMMARY: KENTUCKY ROSE raised her game when getting off the mark in an Ayr maiden this month and she will prove a tough nut to crack here off a fair-looking opening mark. The drop to 5f didn’t appear to do Form of Praise any favours at Ripon and she is respected back up in trip, while Subjective Value has shown enough in his qualifying runs to make him of interest now pitched into a nursery. 1-2-3: 1.KENTUCKY ROSE 2.FORM OF PRAISE (IRE) 3.SUBJECTIVE VALUE STEWARDS NOTE: BIG BOY HARLEY: Following its run on 3/7/2021 it was reported that the horse was never travelling. FOR TWO YRS OLD NUMBER OF DECLARED RUNNERS 5

Contraflow Traffic Management Ltd has generously sponsored this race and will present a memento to the winning owner. THE WHYSETTLE IT NETWORKS MAIDEN STAKES (CLASS 5) (GBB RACE)

RACE DESCRIPTION

This race is a one mile maiden stakes for two-year-olds. Maiden races provide a starting point for young horses that are yet to record a victory and most will be very lightly-raced or be making their racecourse debuts. Previous experience can count for a lot when searching for the winner but well-bred or precocious juveniles are more than capable of landing the prize at the first time of asking.
