W E D N E S D AY 2 3 S E P T E M B E R OFFICIAL PROGRAMME
WELCOME TO AUTUMN RACING P R E S E N T E D BY V I R G I N BE T Welcome to Goodwood Racecourse for another afternoon of Autumn Racing presented by Virgin Bet. Today’s racecard consists of seven races, covering distances from six furlongs to a mile and six furlongs. The highlight of the afternoon is the British EBF £100,000 Fillies’ Series Final, which brings together some of the leading fillies from this year’s season for a valuable and competitive conclusion. The Virgin Bet Foundation Stakes, a Listed contest over a mile and two furlongs, provides another notable feature on the card, while the Heineken Handicap Stakes and Virgin Bet Daily Extra Places Fillies’ Handicap Stakes offer further opportunities for some competitive racing throughout the afternoon. Alongside the action on the track, we hope you enjoy the acoustic seasonal sounds of Willow Avenue on the Earl’s Lawn . We extend our sincere thanks to all our partners, especially Juddmonte, the British European Breeders’ Fund, Virgin Bet and Heineken, for their generous support of today’s racing. On behalf of everyone at Goodwood, thank you for joining us this afternoon. We wish you an enjoyable day with us. Our Season Finale takes place on Sunday 11 October, we hope to see you there for one final celebration before the 2026 season at Goodwood Racecourse draws to a close.
The Duke of Richmond and Gordon, CBE DL Chairman, Goodwood Racecourse

THE COURSE c o u r s e c h a r a c t er i s t i c s Goodwood’s pronounced gradients and sharp bends favour the active, handy type of horse, the fluent mover rather than the big, long-striding runner, and this applies especially in short races and when the going is fast.
