S U N D AY 3 0 A U G U S T OFFICIAL PROGRAMME
WELCOME TO A U G U S T B A N K H O L I D AY P R E S E N T E D BY V I R G I N BE T Welcome to the final day of August Bank Holiday presented by Virgin Bet at Goodwood Racecourse. We bring the bank holiday weekend to a close with an exciting seven-race card, led by the £100,000 Virgin Bet Prestige Fillies’ Stakes. This Group Three contest has long been an important fixture for two-year-old fillies, providing an opportunity for some of the season’s emerging talent to take centre stage on the South Downs. The Virgin Bet Prestige Fillies’ Stakes headlines a strong afternoon of racing, with the £45,000 Virgin Bet Daily Price Boosts Handicap Stakes and the £40,000 Tattersalls EBF Novice Stakes among the other highlights. The card also features competitive handicaps over a variety of distances, from six furlongs to two miles, ensuring a fittingly diverse conclusion to the meeting. The August Bank Holiday meeting has become an important part of Goodwood’s summer, offering a final chance to enjoy racing at the track during the traditional holiday weekend. As the Flat season moves towards its finale, today’s winners will have every opportunity to build momentum for the months ahead. Our thanks go to our presenting partner Virgin Bet, and to all our other partners for their continued support. On behalf of everyone at Goodwood, thank you for joining us and we wish you a memorable and successful final day.
The Duke of Richmond and Gordon, CBE DL Chairman, Goodwood Racecourse

THE COURSE c o u r s e c h a r a c t er i s t i c s Goodwood’s pronounced gradients and sharp bends favour the active, handy type of horse, the fluent mover rather than the big, long-striding runner, and this applies especially in short races and when the going is fast.
