Goodwood Racecard - Friday 6th June

3 FRID AY NIGHT S.

THREE FRIDAY NIGHTS

Welcome to the first of the 2025 Three Friday Nights fixtures. Groove Armada are set to fill the Parade Ring dancefloor after an all-Apprentice racecard takes us through the evening of horseracing.

Our six-races shine a spotlight on the next generation of jockeys –talented individuals at the beginning of their careers. Apprentice races offer an imperative leap towards professional status, with riders receiving a weight allowance to help level the playing field as they gain vital experience in the saddle.

The most valuable race of the day, The BetGoodwin Top UK Online Bookie Apprentice Fillies’ Restricted Novice Stakes, is an opportunity for three to five year old horses to showcase their talent across a mile on the track. Our furthest race of the day, The Three Friday Nights with Hot Chip Apprentice Handicap Stakes at 8:19pm, allows horses aged four years and older to compete over a mile and three furlongs.

Following an afternoon of compelling racing, the Parade Ring will be transformed into an open-air dancefloor as we welcome the legendary Groove Armada. Renowned for their genre-blending sound and unforgettable live performances, the duo will bring the night to life with a DJ set that promises to be as iconic as the surrounding views.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank our valued partner BetGoodwin for their generous support, and to all our guests joining us for what promises to be an unforgettable evening.

We look forward to welcoming you back this Sunday for Family Race Day, and again for the next edition of Three Friday Nights, where the stage will be set for an electrifying performance by Hot Chip.

On behalf of everyone at Goodwood, thank you for joining us on the first Three Friday Nights. We wish you a successful day

course characteristics

Goodwood’s pronounced gradients and sharp bends favour the active, handy type of horse, the fluent mover rather than the big, long-striding runner, and this applies especially in short races and when the going is fast.
