FRIDAY 22 MAY
OFFICIAL PROGRAMME
Welcome to the opening day of May Festival presented by Fitzdares.
The afternoon begins with The Soil Association 80th Anniversary Conditions Stakes, a valuable six-furlong race for two-year-olds that provides opportunity to spot emerging talent.
Next comes The British Stallion Studs EBF Fillies’ Novice Stakes, where a field of two-year-old fillies take to the racecourse to race over five furlongs. Early-season races at Goodwood often reveal names to follow and this contest is no exception.
The feature race of the afternoon is The Fitzdares Festival Stakes Listed Race, a target for older horses and a stepping stone to higher honours later in the racing season.
Our thanks go to all our Partners for their valued support, including Fitzdares, the European Breeders’ Fund and Edward Bulmer Natural Paint.
We hope you enjoy an entertaining and successful afternoon of racing and look forward to welcoming you back tomorrow, for the second day of May Festival presented by Fitzdares.
The Duke of Richmond and Gordon, CBE DL Chairman, Goodwood Racecourse
