Three Friday Nights
Welcome to the final edition of our Three Friday Nights in 2023.
Whether you have already enjoyed a night of racing and DJs this month or if you are making your first visit, you are assured a memorable evening.
Six thrilling contests on the track set the tempo for the night, with a warmup DJ set from Mr Doris on the East Parade Lawn, courtesy of our friends Pacha Ibiza. Raising the adrenaline after racing, Roger Sanchez takes to the #3FN stage at 9pm.
After this evening we will be turning our attention to the Qatar Goodwood Festival for five days of unmissable sport, entertainment and splendour from Tuesday 1 to Saturday 5 August. I very much hope you will be able to join us then.
My thanks go to all our sponsors for their generous support of racing at Goodwood. I wish you all a fun and enjoyable evening.

#3FN Presents: Roger Sanchez
Three Friday Nights 2023 signs off with the dance music award winning DJ, Roger Sanchez.
From humble beginnings in New York City, digging in dusty crates of old vinyl and spinning at house parties in Corona, Queens, to dominating the dance floors and headlining festival main-stages in every corner of the globe.
Roger Sanchez is an artist who is always moving forward, re-defining house music. Despite his success, he remains humble, real, and true to his roots. The S-Man sums it up perfectly when he states: “I’m always moving forward, but never losing sight of where I’ve been.”

Sponsor’s Thank You
Goodwood Racecourse is very grateful to this year’s sponsors for their generous and continued support throughout the 2023 season. Today we would like to thank:
Become a Racecourse Sponsor
Sponsoring a race is an excellent way of raising your company’s profile and generating great brand awareness. What’s more, being associated with Goodwood is an opportunity to reflect the style and quality of your business. There are various levels of sponsorship available to suit your requirements.
For further details and prices please contact Tony Langenegger on 01243 755022 or by e-mail tony.langenegger@goodwood.com.
Course Characteristics
Goodwood’s pronounced gradients and sharp bends favour the active, handy type of horse, the fluent mover rather than the big, long-striding runner, and this applies especially in short races and when the going is fast.

Race Summary
ALBA LONGA made a mockery of her opening mark when winning in impression fashion over an extended 1m3f at Windsor last month, and Ralph Beckett's filly is the one to beat off 6lb higher Recent Chepstow scorer Divina Grace can progress further upped in trip, while class-dropper Great Bedwyn should not be taken lightly. Sovereign Spirit gained a third win from his last four starts when winning at Beverley 13 days ago and also commands attention.

Race Summary
Desperate Hero scored with plenty to spare at Windsor recently and a 6lb penalty may not be enough to halt him, but slight preference is for SPARTAN ARROW after he caught the eye when failing to get a clear run in a decent contest over 6f at the same course. A Brighton maiden winner last month, Simon & Ed Crisford's colt looks capable of better and he could deliver on that promise with a clear passage. Woolhampton completes the shortlist.

STEWARDS NOTED:

NAILS MURPHY:Following its run on 7/1/2023 it was reported that the horse ran too freely.
Race Summary
Sceptic was dropped 1lb for his recent fourth at York, which was a solid effort, and he remains capable of taking another step forward. Nails Murphy has shaped well on both starts, including when third under a penalty at Kempton, and he enters the reckoning on his handicap bow. The vote, though, goes to HALLA DUBAI, who has progressed with each run to date and an opening mark of 83 appears to be workable following his second at Doncaster
Win: HALLA DUBAI Danger: Sceptic
