Three Friday Nights Welcome to the third and final evening of our Three Friday Nights fixtures, presented by heycar and featuring a live set from music legend Carl Cox. Before the music, we have six highly competitive races to enjoy this evening, commencing with a six-furlong Maiden Stakes – a race for two-year-old horses yet to win on a racecourse. It is worth keeping an eye on the outcome of this for horses to follow in the future. After the horseracing, Carl Cox, the dance music pioneer and ‘King of Ibiza’, will take to the decks as the paddock is transformed into a laserlit dancefloor. A global phenomenon, and one of the most in-demand DJs in the world, his life’s mission is to bring people the good times. A master of the dance and rave culture, his infectious high energy and enthusiasm are a hallmark of his success in the music industry. We are very grateful to heycar for their generous support of racing today, alongside William Hill who are sponsoring the remaining races. I hope you can join us for our flagship Qatar Goodwood Festival, from 26 – 30 July. It promises to be a memorable week of world-class horseracing. Have an enjoyable time at the Racecourse this evening.

The Duke of Richmond & Gordon Chairman, Goodwood Racecourse

Amongst a small, yet hotly-contested maiden stakes and marginal preference is for BEAUTIFUL SUNRISE, who has shown plenty of promise on both his career starts, including a good second at York last month. A step up in trip should aid his cause given he has run on late previously, so he rates a solid contender. Trillium cannot be underestimated on her debut, while Galeron boasts course and distance experience which could help him get involved.

RACE TWO

VALSAD gained a first success at Lingfield on his most recent start and the manner of that performance suggested the step into handicap company wouldn’t hold him back from progressing further. Nathanael Greene was fourth on his handicap bow at Musselburgh, when not receiving much luck in running, and he is likely to step forward from that display. Bizarre Law didn’t run too badly in the London Gold Cup at Newbury and he is capable of better stepping up in trip.

STEWARDS NOTED: PARACHUTE:Following its run on 13/5/2022 it was reported that the horse was hampered late-on.

The progressive RED FLYER looked better than ever when keeping on strongly to notch a third success of the campaign at Newmarket last month and, providing he handles this very different track, a 3lb rise may not be enough to anchor him. The prolific Way Of Life will appreciate this return to 1m4f and should remain competitive despite a career-high rating, while it would be no surprise to see Parachute make his presence felt from a sliding mark over his optimum trip.
