The Sir David Prosser Trophy celebrates the achievements of the most successful Epsom-based trainer from the 2026 racing season.
The trophy was named in Sir David Prosser’s honour on his retirement from the non-executive board of Epsom Downs in 2013. Sir David made an enormous contribution to the development of the racecourse over many years and remained a loyal supporter of Epsom Downs and the local training community until his passing in March 2020.
The current standings can be seen below and are correct as of 7th July.
The presentation for the winning trainer will be made at the Epsom Trainers Association Ball in November. The Sir David Prosser Trophy championship for 2026 runs from 5th November 2025 to 4th November 2026.
Epsom Downs is home to nearly 180 horses in training. These horses have access to six miles and 250 acres of top quality training surface along the Surrey Downs. We are very proud of the training grounds here on Epsom Downs. Racing is part of our heritage and we want to ensure that we keep the Downs as a prestigious training ground and encourage further business from trainers and owners in the future.
For more information on the trainers and training facilities at Epsom Downs please visit: www.jockeyclubestates.co.uk/epsom

A few with chances but SWIPED had looked on the up when scoring at Bath and is taken to quickly resume winning ways in a switch ofheadgearhaving gone in snatches when runner-up there last time. Happy Banner is knocking on the door and rates a major danger though, while both Ritaal and Play Me can also play a prominent role.
