Full sister to Music To My Ears, won at 7f and 1m. She looks set to build on a promising debut effort when third at Naas and that experience can stand her in good stead today Star Rating 4 Back

Dam an unraced sister to 1m Group 3 winner Steip Amach. She may prefer a stiffer test of stamina and though not ruled out, others are of greater interest today Star Rating 3 3

B f Justify (USA) - Sure Route (GB)

M V Magnier & Mrs Paul Shanahan & Mrs John

Half-sister to Divine Image, won three times between 1m and 1m 1f including the UAE Oaks. A 105,000-dollar purchase, she’s related to plenty of smart types and could have a say on her racecourse bow Star Rating 3

O Alymer Stud P Twomey T

Dam won at 7f and 1m 3f She cost £160,000 and makes plenty of appeal on paper The market could be a likely indicator of her chances today. Star Rating 5

Br B f No Nay Never (USA) - Muravka F

B Barronstown Stud Ryan Moore J

O Mrs J Magnier,M Tabor,D Smith,Westerberg A P O’Brien T

Half-sister to The Wow Signal, won three times at 6f including a Group 1 race She sports blinkers for her debut, which would raise a query, but newcomers from this yard always demand the utmost respect. Star Rating 4

Half-sister to Millionaire Waltz, won six times at 7f and 1m, as well as the progressive Radio Goo Goo. She cost 24,000gns as a foal, which rose to £50,000 last year A market check is advised.

Her dam was a Group-placed 1m winner who is related to plenty of winners herself, so this daughter of No Nay Never should be capable of mounting a stern challenge on her racecourse bow

Half-sister to Cosa Sara, won four times at 1m. The Night Of Thunder filly is likely to need further in time based on her pedigree, but she’s worth a glance in the betting. Star Rating 3

Full sister to Common Practice, won over hurdles at 2m and on the flat at 1m eyecatching booking, but she might be one for further down the line Star Rating 2 is

Probable Starting Prices - 7/4 Matrika, 9/2 Gunzburg, 6/1 Grand Job (USA), 7/1 Glor Tire, Mysteries, 8/1 September Leaves, 10/1 Back Down Under, 25/1 Tiscommonknowledge, 33/1 Miss Black Jack (GB) 2022 - 1st Zarinsk (GB) 2nd Olivia Maralda 3rd Never Ending Story (1 min. 13.7 sec.)

Just one of the field has seen the racetrack before, so much is taken on potential, pedigree and profile Back Down Under looked a fairly straightforward juvenile on her debut when third at Naas last month, but maybe lacked the change of gear needed to be effective at this sprint trip. With no form to go on elsewhere, the eye is immediately drawn to the speedily-bred MATRIKA The daughter of No Nay Never is out of a half-sister to Coventry Stakes winner The Wow Signal and could be sharp enough on debut. Mysteries, another by No Nay Never, is out of a useful miler, while Night Of Thunder filly September Leaves is also bred to be precocious.

Curragh Comment

Aidan O’Brien has hit the ground running with his juveniles this season and though blinkered ahead of her debut, Matrika merits the utmost respect. Back Down Under finished a good third on her introduction at Naas and is likely to take a step forward with that experience under her belt, but preference is for GUNZBURG. The £160,000 daughter of Sioux Nation represents an in-form yard and should have the speed to cope with this trip on her racecourse bow.

WIN: GUNZBURG
