Remembering former Chester Race Company Director

Richard was an accomplished horseman and actively involved with the racing and breeding industry from an early age. In partnership with his wife Sally, he developed the leading UK based dual purpose thoroughbred breeding stud and sales consignment operation and in doing so created an iconic brand name within the industry

We have been fortunate to have benefitted from the dedication, passion and leadership that Richard provided to Bangor-on-Dee and Chester Race Company over the years. Richard contributed greatly to Chester Race Company, serving on the Bangor-on-Dee Committee since 2007 and as its Chair from 2016 Richard oversaw the introduction of the new multi-award winning Owners & Trainers facility and championed the increase in prize money to over £1 million.

As a Non-Executive Director of Chester Race Company for 9 years Richard provided valuable knowledge and guidance that aided the significant growth and expansion of the Company

The loss of his presence and personality in our Parade Rings will be felt by us and so many in the racing community but especially by those who had the privilege to work closely with him.
