THE JOCKEY CLUB WELCOMES YOU

Happy New Year! We are delighted to welcome you through the gates for our New Year’s Day race meeting and welcome 2022 in the best possible way. We have an exciting seven race card on offer this afternoon, and we are looking forward to getting the year off to a flyer. We are delighted to welcome so many families on course today for our second Family Fun Day of the season. It is very important to us to encourage the next generation of racing fans, so please do make the most of our two dedicated Family Fun Zones in the tented village. We have plenty of complimentary entertainment on offer from a cargo run obstacle course and car simulators to Children’s TV Characters Bluey and Bingo making personal appearances throughout the day. If you have not yet purchased your 2022 Cheltenham Wall Calendar, you can do so during racing today from the horsebox positioned under the Crescent Walkway at the top of the Parade Ring. We have limited availability remaining, and all proceeds will go to Tiggy’s Trust. As ever, our thanks go to today’s sponsors; Ballymore, Paddy Power, Dornan Engineering and Cheltenham Pony Club. We wish you and your guests a wonderful day with us. We would like to take this time to thank you all for your support throughout 2021 and particularly as we introduce additional requirements for our racegoers as we follow the revised Government Covid guidance. We appreciate all your patience and cooperation. We hope you all have a brilliant day today and a wonderful 2022. We look forward to seeing you back here for Festival Trials Day on Saturday 29 January, our final raceday before the four days of extraordinary sport that await us in March. MARTIN ST QUINTON

PLAY SMARTER

BEYOND BOUNDARIES is a full brother to a smart Flat type and represents top connections, so a chance is taken on him to make a winning start at the likely expense of Poetic Music, who is unbeaten in 2 so far. Iliade Allen also comes under consideration having opened her account at Warwick last time.
