Our next raceday is a week on Saturday with the first race scheduled for 5.30 pm. This evening is Gentlemen’s Night, so ladies and gentlemen dress up and enjoy a fantastic evening of racing, which will be followed by a DJ set from radio and TV presenter, Chris Moyles. Chris will be inside in the Summer Marquee, so don’t let the weather bother you – come and enjoy the evening!

OFFICIAL BHA RATINGS

The BHA Handicappers allot ratings to horses once they have taken part in a sufficient number of races to enable the Handicappers to make a numerical assessment of each horse’s ability.

The principal purpose of the ratings is to determine the weight to be carried by each runner in handicap races, with the Handicappers aiming to provide each participant with an equal chance based on its best recent form under its optimum conditions. A horse rated 100, for example, would be set to carry 1lb more than a horse rated 99 (ignoring any penalties or allowances).

The ratings published in the racecard for handicap races are the ratings that were used to calculate the weight to be carried by each horse, whilst in non-handicaps races the rating shown is that of each runner at the time that the entries for the race were confirmed. Any subsequently published change to a rating, either up or down, is shown in brackets following the rating.

MONAADHIL seemingly had plenty left in the tank when notching his fourth C&D success last week and will take plenty of stopping under a penalty if in a similar mood. Daisy Roots is holding her form well and she is likely to be in the mix once again, while recent all-the-way Lingfield winner Hold The Press is also shortlisted. Brilliant Blue and Lynwood Lad are other plausible candidates.

Kinta was runner-up to Lezoo in the Princess Margaret at Ascot last season and she could be very interesting on her return.

It is essential and a requirement that you follow their instructions. If you are able please take your belongings with you and proceed as directed out of the area as quickly and quietly as possible. 6. Entry to the racecourse is restricted to persons of over 18 unless accompanied by an adult. Persons aged 16 and under may only enter the Parade Ring (if holding an appropriate Owners badge) with an adult, and no-one of 12 years of age and under may enter the Parade Ring or Winners Enclosure in any circumstances.

7. Chelmsford City Racecourse reserves the right to refuse admission or eject any race-goer whose conduct is unacceptable or compromises the safety of race-goers, participants and horses. 8. Annual badges will be numbered and are non-transferable. We reserve the right to request secondary identification material from annual badge and season-ticket holders.

9. No refunds will be given for badges, tickets or pro rata amounts of annual memberships and season tickets that are purchased but not used, except if racing is abandoned in the circumstances detailed below.

10. Chelmsford City Racecourse may abandon racing when directed by the British Horseracing Authority, the police or emergency services, or in any emergency or other exceptional circumstances beyond our reasonable control. If racing is abandoned, day ticket refunds will be applied as follows: Abandonment before completion of the first race – full refund; Abandonment up to the third race 50%; Abandonment other than as above – no refund. REFUNDS CANNOT BE PROCESSED ON RACEDAYS. Advance tickets will be automatically refunded via the original payment method. Tickets bought on the day should be posted with any receipts to: Accounts Department, Chelmsford City Racecourse, Great Leighs, Chelmsford, ESSEX, CM3 1QP and should be received within 28 days from the race meeting. Any unauthorised bookmakers will be ejected.
