Welcome to Chelmsford City Racecourse

Some of you may have noticed that the going tonight is classified as ‘standard to slow’ rather than the more usual ‘standard’. The all-weather course has undergone a complete overhaul during the last couple of weeks, which has involved a substantial amount of work. Firstly, the material was brought from the outside to the inside to level the course, then the track was turned over, bringing the bottom material to the top before the track being completely re-waxed to bind all the material together more effectively.

This work is an essential part of keeping the course in good condition but until the surface beds down it may be that the times tonight will be marginally slower than usual, hence the change in the going description. The change will be minimal and possibly non-existent but we felt that it was prudent to highlight the situation and to inform you of our commitment to the course.

We have good fields tonight and competitive racing, so I wish you the best of luck finding some winners and I hope you have an enjoyable evening.
