THE SAVE MY SOUL 2023 HANDICAP STAKES (CLASS 6)

for four yrs old and upwards x Total prize fund £7650

BETS AVAILABLE ON THIS RACE

Owners Prize Money. 1st £3159, 2nd £1580, 3rd £789, 4th £395, 5th £197. (Penalty Value £4004) Weights raised 1lb and paragraphs 27 to 31 of the Weights and Handicapping Code complied with where applicable.

CITY SELECTIONS LAKE SAND finished a good fourth over C&D 51 days ago and Ali Stronge’s charge, who is now 5lb below his last winning mark, makes the most appeal as he bids for a third course success. Laurentia ought to appreciate the return to this venue and she’s on a fair mark if returning to form. Night Traveller has been given a chance by the handicapper and the booking of Hollie Doyle is noteworthy.

PLAY SMARTER LAKE SAND goes well at this track (both career victories gained over C&D) and, on the back of an encouraging reappearance fourth and now operating 5lb below his last winning mark, he could well be ready to strike. Arpina needs to shrug off a lesser effort over C&D 7 weeks ago but is largely consistent so can feature, along with Laurentia. Night Traveller isn’t dismissed totally either.
